Your standard ID-checking protocol is fair, and no one in our group had — nor should have — any objection to complying with that policy. However, your response contains several inaccuracies and a dismissive tone that misrepresents what actually happened.
First, not all of us were “just 21.” Several members of our group were 22 or 23. We were fully cooperative and polite when asked to show identification. From our recollection, no one from our group left the taproom when asked for IDs — because that never even happened. Likewise, not everyone in our group entered the taproom together, and certainly not all of us were asked for IDs at the same time as your staff claims.
The real issue was not your policy but rather the way it was carried out. The staff member who approached us was very aggressive and unnecessarily confrontational from the very beginning. You are absolutely right in saying diligence is not the same as rudeness; and professionalism in enforcing rules is just as important as the rules themselves. As the owner, being “happy” with how this situation was handled — despite your staff member’s conduct — suggests that tone and respect are not being given equal weight in your training.
It is also most certainly not our responsibility as patrons to explain your own protocols to members of our party who joined later on. That responsibility should lie entirely within your staff, and expecting your patrons to fill in the gaps of your own policy, then threatening to kick them all out, sounds just a tad bit unreasonable.
We are not criticizing your ID-checking policy. What we are constructively trying to criticize is the manner in which your staff treated paying customers. Given the makeup of our group, it was hard not to feel that we may have been subject to closer scrutiny than other patrons. Ultimately, we hope this feedback can help improve both training and customer experience so that safety and compliance are achieved with professionalism and respect.
My friends and I went here and had a really disappointing experience. The staff was extremely hostile when checking IDs, treating us with attitude instead of basic courtesy. We understand being strict about IDing, I know it’s the law, but the way it was handled was rude and unprofessional. We were all nice, but it made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable and not welcoming at all. Definitely won’t be coming back.
Went inside the taproom with my boyfriend, decided I didn’t want to purchase anything, and went to sit outside. My boyfriend came back with a beer and I took a sip, where I was immediately carded by an employee (which is not a problem). Many people in the group I was with did NOT enter the taproom and went directly to the outdoor seating area— where it is not explicitly stated that you have to show ID to take a sip of another person’s drink. No one was trying to underage drink, we were simply unaware of how strictly the rules were enforced.
I understand that checking IDs, especially for younger presenting individuals, is part of protocol but you should really highlight that in your seating area rather than approach us with hostility and threaten to kick us out. The tone in which you talked to us was not polite or welcoming. No one was underage. In fact, we were there to celebrate a friend’s 23rd birthday.
I came here once with my friend and we loved our experience! We loved the outside atmosphere and getting to try everything and the staff was so welcoming. The second time I came I had a very different experience… I came in on a Sunday with a large group and some of the staff was rude coming up to
our tables and rudely asking for ID for individuals of the group who weren’t drinking (even though everyone was over 21) and my friend with an out of state license was asked for multiple forms of ID even after his ID was scanned and staff had asked for him to verify his address?? even though they hadn’t asked anyone else or come up to anyone else’s table. Be warned if you’re coming in with a larger group of people who are younger or if you have an out of state id, that the staff may be unwelcoming. I wish that staff would have checked everyone in the groups id on entering the property or had just asked for everyone’s id at once. I was hoping to have a better experience as a local but I don’t think i’ll be recommending this place again :(
Met a friend here last month because it is the “halfway point” for both of us and I’m so happy we tried it out! The beer selection is amazing and all the beers we tried were great. Awesome ambiance and the staff was so friendly. Can’t wait to go back!
Really enjoyed the IPAs I had, nice setup, cool vibe. Will be back!
Menu has tons of options! It was a cool vibe but a little loud to talk to others (there was a band playing).
We’ve always loved breweries for their family friendly atmosphere including this one. Today we felt shamed for bringing kids and using tables by an employee. She not only scolded us but continued to talk crap and point us out to the other employees. We love the beer and the place but can’t understand why this happened when half the other tables were empty at the point she made a big fuss about it. Definitely not a chill brewery like we’re used to.
The beer and service is great but PLEASE just make it 21+ all around. A group of parents brought all their kids and just the kids alone took up THREE tables like it was a summer camp leaving no room for people who actually want to spend money and enjoy their time
Great atmosphere with covered outdoor seating. A variety of brews available as well as flavored seltzer. Bring in food from local restaurants and stay awhile.

Randomly found this place after a family outing and glad we did! Live music was fantastic. The beers were terrific. Everything was reasonably priced. They even had an accessible water dispenser. Great snacks were available too. Best of all, it was family friendly. Had a terrific time and would certainly go back.
Either they don't know how to pour a beer or the one bartender was correct that the one tap was not working well. Either way instead of trying to pour from the bad tap they could've filled all the other orders while figuring it out. Other than that the beers were good. The band was packing up when I got there at 8:00 p.m. they sounded good, I would have liked to hear more.
Awesome atmosphere and cool concept
Long time lurker, finally a reviewer. I’ve been watching Diamond Spring for a year+ and we finally got a chance to go as we were in the area (we live 30+ mins away). Everyone needs to check this place out. Beer is legit - been at many a brewery in NJ; this one is my favorite hands down. The events and music calendar is legit - always something happening. We have dogs (not as part of this visit) and seeing a pup-friendly spot and having the ability to pet so many friendly puppers is amazing. As a dog owner, the ability to socialize your pet in a setting like this is super important and rare. As a child owner, LOVE the split spaces for adults only and kiddo-enjoyers alike. There are times I don’t want to hang with kids but there are those other important times where I want to play board games or cards with my kid while in an adult setting - here I have the choice of the space. Kudos for the creativity. Plus, food runners for local restaurants, electrolyte waters for the dogs and screen-free writing tablets for the kids - all for sale in the shop. The attention to detail is crazy here as is their knowledge of their target customer base. Can’t say enough good here. Oh. Also read all the low-star reviews because I do my research like that and I can confidently say, that is frou-frou nit pick written by people who feel a need to whine. Don’t be that person. Experience the chill for yourself. Support this place. 💯worth it.
Great place to enjoy some beer and hang with friends and enjoy the music
