Food was good, atmosphere was nice. Service was not great. Our waiter visited once at the beginning of the meal then disappeared. We sat after eating for a good 20 minutes until I had to go find a staff member to request desert menus. By the time he returned , our group was tired of waiting and wanted to leave. Perhaps it was an off night.

Used to love this place. Went today. Food was ok but service was horrible. The chef didn’t say more than 2 words to us and never even smiled. They definitely need more help. Waiter was nice but didn’t really know his stuff. Asked if we wanted anything after we were done eating and I asked for dessert menus. We were a party of 8. He asked how many I needed and brought 2. Will definitely be finding a different hibachi restaurant.

1 usually go to these places for the entertaining chef. Pause was boring he didn't really do much entertaining. He just quietly cooked most of the time. The food is as expected for these types of places.

They don’t care about the customers. They messed up an order and we don’t live close by so I called and asked if they would deliver the correct item. I’m sure they’re familiar with DoorDash, Uber eats and Grubhub, they took my info and I just never heard from them again. Given the premium prices and the simplicity of the order, I thought it was a reasonable request.
I did nothing wrong, I ordered the food, paid for the food, picked up the food, but didn’t receive the food. It’s not like they have an exclusive on Japanese food in Morris county, but they act like we need them more than they need us. Crappy way to treat a customer.

I actually ordered out this time but have been to Sogo’s many times! Always a great place! I think everyone in my family requests Sogo’s for their birthday dinner including me😉
I have been going to Sogo with my family for my entire life (starting back when it was Banzai). Any time I come home to visit my parents, my only request is that we go out to dinner at Sogo for one of the nights that I'm there.
I have had countless birthdays, holidays, nights with friends, and more at Sogo, and everything is always great! (Food, atmosphere, staff, chefs, etc.)
I have been to many teppanyaki/hibachi restaurants all over, and Sogo is by far my favorite. Thank you for all the years of great food and great memories!

So, the place is really nice both inside and outside on the patio. If you sit o. The patio you miss the hibachi experience but the river and decor are very nice. Hibachi was very good and our cook was entertaining and cooked well. The service was slow. Getting refills on drinks or even getting white rice took quite a while to complete. I understand it was a Saturday but it should have been better service. Hibachi is a little pricey but the menu and food preparation was very good.

Have been here a number of times for both the hibachi and the sushi. The food is always fantastic. All sorts of high-quality & innovative sushi options, as well as delicious hibachi, fairly priced. The restaurant itself is beautiful, pleasant atmosphere, noise level is low. No blaring music. You can actually have a conversation with your friends. Service was always good. Nice bar. Great place to enjoy happy hour.
