⭐ 1-Star Review — Starbucks Denville, Route 10

My wife and I are frequent Starbucks customers. We’re not coffee drinkers, but we regularly enjoy their lattes, lemonades, and hot chocolates, and we always appreciate good customer service — which is why today’s experience at the Denville Route 10 location was so disappointing.

Since today was Red Cup Day, I stopped in and ordered my usual latte and lemonade and politely asked for the Red Cups. I was told that I needed to purchase specific qualifying drinks, and that I’d have to speak to the manager about the policy. I spoke with Steve F., who confirmed that they would not make an exception. To qualify, I ended up buying two hot chocolates I didn’t even want, just to meet their requirement. I was given the two cups — and I left the hot chocolates behind.

Still frustrated, I drove to another Starbucks. I ordered the same drinks, asked for the Red Cups, and was given them immediately with a smile. No questions, no attitude, no “policy.” Just genuine customer service. The difference was night and day.

The Denville Route 10 Starbucks team needs serious coaching on customer service and flexibility. I truly dislike leaving negative reviews, but in this case, it’s well deserved. Customers shouldn’t be made to jump through hoops for something that other locations handle with ease and kindness.

You want a real cup of coffee? Go to The Spot in Randolph. Last time I will ever visit Starbucks. The last few times (even asking for extra shots in my drink) I drank nothing but milk. Done.

apparently you need to check your orders before you leave or you’ll have to drive back. i ordered a venti latte with two extra shots and extra whip cream and got basically a grande.

What is special nook of a Starbucks
 The area feels like you’re on vacation in the Hamptons and the staff is impeccable. So kind with warm, welcoming, smiles and friendliness.

I did not catch the young lady's name, but she is slim, brown skin with a big beautiful smile. I walked in with my French bulldog in a bag. She along, with her co-worker gave my pup lots of love. I was indecisive.. not sure if I should try the Sugar Cookie latte or the White Hot Chocolate.. she was ultimately patient, giving me time to decide. She asked to warmup my banana bread without me suggesting it, and also gave me a pup cup for my Frenchie. Amazing all around staff. I'm not a Starbucks guy, but I will visit that location again, and again, and again..

Worst Starbucks in the area. It's run by children and only functional when the manager is here. Baristas are scrolling through their socials and playing basketball with beverage caps while customers are waiting for their drinks that were promised over 15 minutes ago. I've now been waiting 20 minutes for a matcha latte. This is absurd.
