After thinking about this some more, I'm editing my review. I think the portions looked strange because nothing was mixed together. I'm not sure why they didn't mix it together for me, but in retrospect, it's probably the same or similar sized portion to what you'd get if you dine in. Still expensive and still mediocre taste, but I'm no longer complaining about the ratio of chicken/broccoli to rice. I bumped the rating from 2 to 3 stars.

The food was very good and fresh, we loved the Denisse roll with sweet and salty mango, it was perfect. The staff is very attentive and they gave us the taco tartare to try and we were really surprised very tasty. The attention is very good, the place is super good too and the attention is fast and cordial. Anyway, I recommend it!!

Food is EXCELLENT! Freshly prepared while you wait. If you sit by the counter, you can actually watch the chef preparing your food. The place is unassuming - right by the street - but as you walk in, it's serene and peaceful. Chefs are preparing food without any rush , paying attention to details and it comes across when you taste it. You can sit at the table, or if you prefer the omikase menu, by the counter. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a Japanese sushi restaurant.

Their food is so good we had the spicy salmon roll, which is one of the best I’ve ever had and the sweet potato roll, which was very crunchy and delicious. I also recommend the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which is fried to perfection overall. The quality of the food is very good and I would give this place a 10 out of 10

Every time I come to Yama sushi I am always greeted with a warm smile and quickly sink into the relaxing atmosphere. I sit at the bar and watch the chefs as they patiently craft each roll. My food arrives and I enjoy the well balanced rolls containing high quality fish. The quality of salmon stands out in particular, satisfyingly melting in your mouth. Their special rolls such as the haru and Yama special never disappoint. I look forward to my next meal at Yama sushi
