Sadly I can’t recommend this business because of the unprofessional attitude of both the chef Jimmy (who barely speaks any English) and Andrew the contact person. Jimmy showed up at 4:50 for a 5 pm event. He wasn’t even ready to serve the sushi until 5:45 pm. They didn’t provide several items that were listed in the contract. We didn’t get shrimp tempura rolls and more importantly, plates were not provided for the sushi. I had asked Andrew about the plates before my event and he stated everything needed for Sushi would be provided including plates. I was forced to scrounge around for mismatched plates. I’m giving one star for the sushi which we did enjoy but the service was terrible. Also he ran out of pickled ginger within the first hour. He did not bring food service gloves and we had to provide them. Overall, he was very unprepared for my party. There were no signs listing the names and ingredients of the rolls and especially which rolls were vegetarian. Completely unprofessional! He did not bring jalepenos for the rolls which we had requested before the event and which Andrew assured us would be added. Furthermore, Jimmy kept asking when he could leave. The final straw was his being more concerned about a tip than providing the best service. We would not use them again…I then tried to explain all of these issues to Andrew after the event and he was not professional or even really cared about all the issues I mentioned but was talking over me and trying to intimidate me. We catered the main dinner from another caterer and they were spectacular and very professional.

I found them online. When I called I spoke with Andrew the owner. He immediately put my mind at ease was willing to work with everything that I had wanted to, even took the time to stay on the phone with me while we were both online checking out pictures of different platters and different options to have. I threw myself a surprise 50th birthday party, and I wanted to have something different besides the normal Italian buffet. What I want to show you is absolutely spectacular, and as beautiful as it looks it doesn't compare to the taste. They were so professional brought in these beautiful heavy metal platters with serving spoons, tongues, and they also brought chopsticks soy sauce and a spicy male sriracha. I ordered a Kani salad and a Seaweed salad to go along with the different platter that I wanted. It was truly an amazing experience. Don't sleep on the opportunity to hire them to cater your next event. Mine was about a hundred people, and again I had other food but this was definitely the star of the show.

I just wanted to take a moment to say how great Sushi Event Professionals is--they did a fantastic job of catering my daughter's bat mitzvah (on a very rainy spring day) in Brooklyn. The sushi was delicious, the set up/display was wonderful and all the guests talked about how great it was and really enjoyed it! Did not dissapoint!! Would HIGHLY recommend. Andrew was great with everything from communication to set up to clean up! Very professional punctual and food was fresh and perfect amout for guests. He even asked if anyone wanted anytning special not displayed. My whole family was in awe and they are very difficult to impress. They called next day to say again how amazing everything was. Use SEP you wont regret it!
