I usually order from this place at least once a week. I placed a big order for an office party. Placed the order on Friday for pick up on Wednesday. Wednesday morning I get a call that I have to pick up my order they cannot deliver. I go to pick up my order calling the number multiple times with no answer after several attempts they finally answer to let me know they are close and can only give me a refund. Super unprofessional. I will Never support this location again!!!

Finally got to Eat in The Cave!! The customer service was A1!!! The whole plate was full of flavor! I loved the Arroz con Gandules & Mac & cheese. The plate looks small but they are heavy duty!! You cant even see the rice under the fish. The vegan empanada was really good & flavorful. Maduros 🔥. I dont eat meat but I do eat seafood sometimes & the whiting was 🔥. Recommend 10/10. -Lily

Ed and Zina were a pleasure to work with! From the beginning, they were professional, friendly and helpful. The presence of their food truck was pivotal in making our event a huge hit, and all of our guests raved about the incredible food. Would highly recommend booking Cave Kitchen for your next event!

Lots of meat in the empanadas. Jerk chicken was good, beef and cheese was great. Outside is crunchy, but may be a little too deep fried for my preferences. I had three. I suggest just getting one.
Mac and cheese is excellent. A wild amount of cheese.
It's heavy food. I do have some concerns that I'm going to fall asleep during work this afternoon

The food and the hospitality from these people are a 10/10. My father and I first tried the garlic fried chicken bites at a Mets game and I knew I had to bring the rest of my family to try it. We recently visited the food truck and the rice had so much flavor, the garlic chicken bites are so unique, and the jerk empanada was absolutely delicious. Anytime they are in my area, I make it my business to go and buy food. Every time we go they remember us and treated us very warmly as they do with other customers. Being Afro-Latino, I will absolutely continue to support this business!

This place is sooo amazing!!!! I've been a few time and they always exceed my expectations!!!! For this to be a food truck, I'm always met with restaurant quality service. From the moment you walk up to the truck you are greeted by the most pleasant workers that make the ordering process seamless. The food always comes out so fresh and flavorful. I never make it out the parking lot without eat at least half of my food 🤠I will continue to rave about to this place to anyone that will listen because it's just that good!!!

Staff is really nice. They recommended the empanadas, specifically the jerk chicken and beef & cheese, so I got both. Both were really good and had a very good amount of filling. He also asked if this was my first time here - it was, so he gave me a free side of spanish rice. Flavor-wise, the spanish rice was the best I've ever had; texture wise, it was a bit on the al dente side.
Definitely will return if I'm in the area. Note: I'd recommend parking in the Dunellen Public Library. You can park in the train station lot, but there's less parking there and you'll need to step over a very short stone barrier that separates the train station's lot from the library's. Also, I'd recommend checking the truck's opening hours before going as when I checked, they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I found this place a few months ago and have been getting it like once a week since because of how good the food is, They definitely got the best wings and empanadas in the game. In my order today they threw in a side of Mac and cheese on the house, there service there is impeccable my only complaint is how often the food truck is not there since it’s so good.

It's a Food Truck serving up specialties. See the previously captured menu.
The cave never disappoints. First of all, Josh is the man. Treats me like family every time he sees me. No matter who is working you’ll be greeted with a smile and a positive attitude. As far as the empanadas, they will be absolutely filled to the brim. Hands down best ones I’ve ever had in my life. The sauces are absolutely fire. I’ve been coming to cave kitchen since they opened and will be a forever customer.
Absolutely worth the 40-minute drive every time!
The Puerto Rican soul food at this truck is nothing short of amazing. Everything is made fresh, and you can truly taste the love in every bite. My personal favorites are the mac and cheese, the garlic fried chicken, and the whiting — comfort food at its finest. My children’s new found love at the truck are the jerk chicken empanadas!
We’re a family of six, and every visit feels like coming home. The meals are hearty, flavorful, and always satisfying. What makes it even better are the wonderful people behind the window. Zina and Ed, the owners, are genuinely kind and welcoming. And Josh, who works the window, is always so sweet and patient — a real gem.
We love that it’s family-owned and operated. You can feel the pride and care in everything they do. If you're thinking about stopping by — do it. You won’t regret it.
Some of the best soul food I've had in the state. The sweet chili wings with Puerto Rican rice, Mac and cheese, and plantains go dummy in ya tummy 10/10 all day. Don't even get me started on the oxtail or jerk chicken empanadas. Straight fire 🔥
I absolutely love the food and the family at the Cave Kitchen. They are consistently kind and literally all of the food is delicious! Don’t second guess it…. Just go and enjoy! 😊
