Ordered calamari appetizer. Smallest serving that I have ever seen. For the price it should be at least 50% more food. The spicy marinara sauce is good though

This restaurant is in the bottom or the cellar of an old hotel that Dunellen hotel great atmosphere. If you’d like, nostalgic or colonial, field stonewalls hand cut beams and the food is good. Prices are amazing I highly recommend this place as well.

Dive-y local spot but the food is pretty decent, albeit slightly above a more appropriate price point.

My husband and I have been going here for years and it's one of the best places to eat around central jersey. Everyone is so friendly and the food is amazing. Always have great service!

The staff are rude. They don't have manners. there is one cranky old man that is stuck in the 1700s get a grip and grow up. Never would recommend and will never go again

Attentive and very friendly staff, love the atmosphere, great menu. I love the "days gone by" feel of this place. Met one of the owners, who was so friendly, and filled in some history of the Rathskeller!

Consistent, quality, elevated bar food. Solid drink selection. Incredible service. Lots of value for your dollar. I grew up in Dunellen and this is the best eats in town. This will be my first stop every time I return. A truly local spot. They really give back to the community. Get the open-faced pastrami reuben, the Canuck sandwich, the three-onion soup or the chicken caesar wrap.

Such a great place. The bartender (Eric?) upstairs is always pleasant. Great pulled pork! My friends just moved to the area and we will be back.

Clear that the bartenders/waitresses only want to take care of friends and locals/regulars. One bartender can't miss 30 seconds of jokes or conversation at other end of bar with her friends to pay attention to order and the other regular one doesn't even crack a smile as he snaps that "If you want to eat, better order now." Above average pub grub if you can find anyone to pay attention to you.

Was in the mood for a burger, and was not Satisfied. The Good: Got a seat at the bar right away on a Friday night. Good atmosphere, lots of people having fun, Ranger game was on the TV, friendly service. The Bad: The spinach salad we always get was less than half the normal size. We were both surprised when it came out. I thought maybe we order the wrong thing, but no. My burger was very disappointing. It was way over cooked, the cheese wasn't even melted on it, and the bread was stale. The bartender asked how it was, and I told him it was over cooked. He said, "well you ate it." Which was kind of a snide remark. Like, why ask me, if you don't want to know? So, finally he pours me another beer, which I didn't ask for nor want, because I was driving and had only planned to have one. I assumed it was complimentary, due to my criticism,... But no,... he charged me.

Food was really good. The bar had a cool atmosphere where it was in a basement, but they highlighted it. They did not try to hide it.
