Sorrentos Bakery in East Hanover has amazing sandwiches, fresh bread, pastries, and cookies. Everything tastes homemade and high quality. But lunchtime can be a challenge. There’s no clear system in place. You walk up to the counter, and one person takes one order at a time. The line can stretch out the door, and you might wait 30 to 45 minutes. I’d love to come more often, but I just don’t have time to wait that long!
Visited in the snow on 12/24/24 and had to wait in a fast moving line. It was well organized chaos. There must have been about 40 people there waiting to get pastry, fresh bread and deli orders. I got some brewed coffee and chatted up some of the local guys who told me the come there all the time. Before I knew it they called my number and filled my carton with goodies. I think my favorite was the pignoli cookies. Soft and crunch with sweet toasted flavors. Cake Came out...
One of the best bakeries in Northern NJ. Fresh bread, excellent pastries and cakes, a deli line for sandwiches, and lots of imported Italian goods to buy. My family has been going here for many years and love it.
