“The halal food is amazing and authentic. We have tried the lentil soup, Adana kabab and chicken kabab. Sometimes, there is only one person in the restaurant who can speak English so ordering can be tricky.”

“It may be slightly hard to order if your not Turkish, but both the staff and patrons treat you like a honored guest in their country, the food is delicious, and they don’t mind helping you pick something. There isn’t really a menu, but they have things if I am correct on days of the week. I moved out of the area months ago, and I kinda miss my occasional trips here.”

“It's been awhile since I've been here.I always get pancakes from this place and always bring friends here for lunch. They have changed the recipe and I think they're under New Management. Not a fan anymore. Need to work on hospitality and better service for handicapped patrons that travel alone. Please try to open the door for them to exit and enter. I was on crutches and received no help.”

“Good evening Family. I visited for the first time today, this location. I wanted something hot to drink, like coffee or tea. I should have asked for tea, but I got coffee instead. I ordered black, medium and decaf coffee. My order was $2.87 and it was ready quickly. I paid by cash and I asked for my receipt. I forgot to ask for my senior discount. My order would have been cheaper. The lady who rung me up was named Patel. I had a good experience here today. I used the rest room and it was clean, but no toilet paper. I had essentials in my purse so I improvised. I left my coffee on the counter when I was in the rest room and it was there when I returned. Have a good night, workout, be active and mobile, fit and fabulous especially for people over 50 years of age.”

“We took a detour on our trip from NJ to Philadelphia last night and stopped here. I am so glad we did! This place is adorable with so many creative choices on the menu. We had two different pizzas, loaded (and I mean loaded!) fried pickles, and two giant pickles on a stick. I don't know if I've ever seen my kids so happy about dinner before. Everything was delicious. The staff is amazing, they brought us out some pickle flavors to try while we were waiting for our food. Who would have thought we would all like cotton candy pickles? There are so many other things we want to try, we will be back!”

“Went last night with two friends for my birthday! I think our chef said his name was Gino! He was great and our waitress and the food was great! My only complaint was that the music was blaring so, we couldn't hear what anyone was saying and we really could even talk to each other!!! It took away from the experience since our chef was saying things that we couldn't hear. I did ask three different staff members if they could lower it to no avail. We don't think we will go back there again! We had to keep asking our waitress to repeat herself and that got to be exhsusting😣”

“Stopped in after a biking through Pennypack Park. Wanted a gyro and picked this place because of the a 5 star rating. The experience exceeded five stars.
The people are incredibly hospitable and friendly.
The food!!! Sooooo goood! Had the lamb Gyro on Mediterranean pita (panini pressed). It was ridiculously delicious. The Moroccan soup slapped. The falafel was crispy and flavorful. The chicken over rice needed no sauce. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and delectable on its own.
The portions were generous. I ate so much and still had plenty of leftovers to take home.
You can tell the people that own this place care about customer experience and quality food.
Will be back for sure.”

“The tomato pie was absolutely phenomenal it ranks up there with the best DE Lorenzo's papa's Jojo's highly recommend tomato pie also their cheesesteaks with the Cooper sharp cheese the best cheesesteakes in the area hands down better than philly people are friendly as soon as you walk in it's just absolutely the best tomato pie and cheesesteaks around thank you”

“My family and I ate at this amazing restaurant! We happened to be in the area and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. We were greeted nicely, the service was good and the food was delicious! We even met Richard who took the time to graciously explain the history and origin of the restaurant/ menu. The atmosphere was inviting and rich with culture. I would totally recommend Samarkand! If you are ready for a new and unique dinning experience this is the place for you!”

“The food is delicious, the smoothies always hit, and the customer service is fantastic. They're always quick and helpful when you're placing your order and I have not had a single bad experience the whole 30+ times we've gone there.

Calling ahead during the winter months has been good for us too!
Highly recommend their chicken tenders with fries (top tier) and their fruit smoothies.
My husband is a big fan of their chicken over rice and also their smoothies.
We also usually call ahead which helps plenty with any wait time.”

“Came here off the turnpike for takeout. Loved it! Writing the review so I remember to come back. I’ve spent some time in South India and restaurants in the US serving that style of food with fresh ingredients and that special, complex flavor can be hard to find. Ordered the medhu vada, onion masala dosa, tomato curry, and saag paneer. All were great! Word of caution: they are using India-worthy spice levels, so the mediums my spice-loving teenager and husband ordered were more than they bargained for!”
