Went here about three weeks ago, and I was very surprised to not have seen the place absolutely packed. The food and service was top quality, and very decently priced. It has a very nice vibe with the music and lighting of the dining room. I dare say this is easily one of the most underrated places in the area.Within the Edgewater area, I have had the chance to dine in numerous places, and I have to say this is one of the best in terms of quality.I had the Salmon, and it was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not to mention the bits of sauce do not overwhelm the fish nor the rice that comes with it. In fact, the slightly acidity of it was a great mix with both the rice and fish.My girlfriend had the ravioli, which was actually very well done at the perfect texture. She seemed to have really enjoyed it.To top it off, we had the lava cake, which was very rich and not too sweet. Perfect temperature, where it was warm enough to mix well with the vanilla ice cream that comes with it.Definitely hope to see more and more people giving it attention. If it was not because of the tricky location, this place would easily be one of the top in the area.
Made reservations at 7:30pm for Valentine's Day. Got there and waited at the front for 20 minutes while 2 people in front of us who also had reservations were waiting to be seated. Once they were brought to the seat the hostess told me and my fiancé it'll just be a minute. We then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes standing there. At 8:10pm a hostess walked by to pick up a menu to provide to someone waiting at the table. They did not even acknowledge us. As we waited we called other restaurants in the area since we already waited 40 minutes. As we were waiting 2 tables got up and walked out as they were not being served and informed us they have been sitting at the table for over 30 minutes and didn't even get so much as a menu or water. It's a very small place and it looked like there was only 2 people running the entire show. We ended up leaving at 8:25pm and going to pier 115 down the block because the other 9 places I called in the area didn't have reservations or spots at the bar available.
Although the food and service was good, we started out with a disappointment. We ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list and watched as the server seemed to be searching for it. When she came back to the table, she had four bottles of wine in her hands and told us the she didn't have access and presented us with the red wines by the bottle we could have. I understand low staffing when there are so few diners, but building a clientele, the restaurant should have a manager on site - especially New Year's Eve. I am not sure if we will go back, but if we do, it will be after the restaurant appears to have "made" it. Note that the server was very good, prompt, professional, and very apologetic about the wine.
Alex the bartender was an amazing host for our first time dining at the restaurant. His drinks were spectacular and his recommendations for snacks were perfection!! Highly recommend :)))
Although the food was quite good, the experience as a whole, did not measure up, especially for an expensive restaurant. From the moment we arrived, we noticed a loud uncomfortable buzzing in the room, That was present all night. Not sure if it was the air conditioning system or an exhaust system from the garage below, but we could feel our ears vibrating from the noise. Both the appetizers and the entrées took very long and they didn't even offer bread. The service was also subpar. We had to continue asking them to fill our water glasses because the waiter would come to the table and only fill one at a time. The octopus was tasty as were the salmon, and the risotto, special entrée. But given the price, and the overall.miss on ambience and service, we will not be back.
AVOID! The WORST place I have ever been. The quality for the price is absolutely shameful. Stale bread, rubbery meat, overcooked pasta, stale burrata cheese... Absolutely horrible. They only had one servant and service was incredibly slow.
Delicious food, stunning ambience, and excellent service are just a few of the amazing aspects of Mariners Bistro. Shout out to Dante — thank you for making our experience so fantastic! Can’t wait to come back and try other delectable food.
When we arrived, the place was fairly empty. That gave me pause as it was a Sunday night. However it turned out to be an excellent restaurant. The food was fabulous. The service was great.
Quite pricy for low quality food. Maybe that's why we were the only customers in the large dining room during our 1 1/2 hour dinner. Rack of lamb at $48 was tough and pale & all jumbled up on the plate with the side dishes. Everything was under seasoned. Rigatoni was ok. Overall a very disappointing birthday dinner.
Dined here last night. Absolutely wonderful. Food was delicious & service was on point. Chef Bennett personally came to our table to explain how certain dishes were prepared & we couldn’t be happier with our dining experience. Will absolutely return.

Our meal was great. Highly recommend Thursday nights! The entertainment was fantastic - Jazz performer Hunter Hayes and DJ Short-E were awesome! Will be back again with more friends!
09/08/2022: Difficult to locate. Had to call and find out restaurant was upstairs over a parking garage. GPS says you've arrived at the location but there's no sign. Live entertainment was spot-on and dancing is permitted! Tomahawk steak for two was absolutely delicious. Price online was $125; in restaurant, menu price was $149...??? Asparagus had to be cut in half because bottom half was not edible. Make sure to ask if sides are included with your meal because I ordered a la carte sides, and the waiter never said anything about it coming with two sides until later, when I decided I wanted to change something. I canceled a la carte! Would I return? Yes, now that I know where it's located. It was date night for hubby and I and the ambiance, entertainment and food, with the exception of the asparagus was delectable.
I am so happy I found this hidden gem by recommendation of my friend. It's located in the metropolitan condo building across from City Place. It was a little tricky to find it but it's decorated lovely and the owners Emanuelle and Adam were there to greet guests . Our server Kimberley knew the menu well. I don't think enough people know about it or it would be packed because the food from start to finish was absolutely delicious ( and we are picky !) There's a nice outdoors but we loved the beautiful inside decor . They will be having jazz dinners . We enjoyed the table side prep of steak tartare which I haven't had in ages . The Sicilian salad was also excellent with citrus sliced so thin , fresh arugula , fennel and olives . Short rib ravioli in a bone broth was over the top according to my husband and the gluten free penne in a truffle cream with shiitakes was fantastic . All pasta is homemade . The owners treated us to panna cotta that was to die for . Creative drink menu and a wine list that's reasonable with some nice choices . We will be back .
The restaurant is quite large and sadly not too many dined on this Saturday night. But service was attentive and friendly. My steak was properly prepared and warm when brought to the table. The accompanied root puree was cold. A side of truffle fries was generous and tasty. I started off with an endive salad which was fresh. The pear and cheese accompanying it was a nice contrast and there was a nice light touch to the dressing. My spouse started with grilled radicchio. My wife is vegan and there's no mention of shaved cheese which was on top. Rather than send it back, she removed the cheese. She went off menu and asked for an assortment of grilled veggies which was good. Portion was more than adequate. We enjoyed our dinner but there's always a value proposition in dining. Was the food as good as what's being charged? I'd say this place comes up a little short.
The food was incredible ! Every dish was better than the sum of its parts, bringing each to a whole new level. Chef Bennett is a shining star in a much-needed local dining experience.
