For authentic Chinese food come here. Looks small but its pretty big and they have outside seating overlooking nyc. Pork belly sticky bun was delish, the other dishes were official, the service was efficient. Check it out

While visiting a friend before she dropped me back off at my hotel for the evening, we came to River House Chinese for dinner. Located in an inconspicuous strip mall right off the Hudson River, there was ample parking.

We were seated right away because we came pretty close to closing time, but they did not seem bothered by this.

I was ecstatic to see that they served Singapore noodles, one of my absolute favorite Chinese dishes. My friend ordered orange chicken and was thrilled. The service was fast and friendly. Our food came out quickly and was piping hot.

The Singapore noodles were absolutely delicious and had tons of succulent shrimp and fresh vegetables. My friend remarked that the orange chicken was some of the best she had had in the area.

So if you were looking for some tasty Chinese food near Edgewater, come check this place out.

I had the orange chicken with rice, and it was delicious rich flavor and great texture. The service was excellent and the staff was very attentive, although the wait time for our dishes was about 40 minutes.

The best part is the location. There’s access to the deck right by the river, which makes for an amazing view while you enjoy your meal if the weather is nice. Plus, the shared parking lot has plenty of spaces, which is very convenient.

Overall, a great spot to visit for tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere by the water.

First time I tried the chicken dish was okay but second time was terrible too dried and too salty. As a Chinese this food isn’t authentic at all, too bad I live in Edgewater but worse Chinese food ever I drove to other town like palisades park or fort Lee for better Chinese food

It was our first time coming here and we enjoyed our time. We really liked the sesame chicken and scallion pancakes. The chicken fried rice was okay, we weren’t a fan of the chicken.

Service was great!

I have been a customer since 2023 and have consistently received excellent food. The jumbo mango shrimp was made to order not reheated. Shrimps were indeed jumbo, sauce and veggies so flavorful I gulped it down.

We've eaten here many times and it's always a delight. It's BYOB so sometimes I will bring a bottle of wine and they can put it in an ice bucket. We like to sit on the open balcony with that great view next to the River. Call if you want to sit outside on a warm Fri or Sat evening especially. All the waiters are so very nice and friendly. We usually eat vegetarian, so the veg fried dumplings have the perfect flavor and puffiness. They have good sauteed Chinese broccoli as well as sauteed Chinese eggplant. You should choose the sauce with each dish, ginger/scallion for lighter or black soybean for a saltier tang are both good. Sometimes they put in too much sauce in dishes so just tell the waiter to have the chef use less. I appreciate that they do not use much MSG flavoring at all, because with some Chinese places I leave feeling sleepy with a sore jaw. You can ask for hot chili sauce on the side and each place makes their own.. this one can sometimes sneak up on you. They also have a good Pan Fried Noodle dish, and you can ask them to put in fried tofu in any dish for a small charge. I have had the Sauteed Fish with Veg and that's really nice. The huge Shrimp in Grand Marnier sauce is very good too. Parking is really easy, it's across from Trader Joe's, near UPS. I do love going there.

This place is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese flavors, it’s definitely worth a visit. We ordered three entrées—one fish and two chicken dishes—along with sides of lo mein and fried rice. Each entrée came with a bowl of white rice, which was a nice touch.

The standout dish for me was the Fish Fillet with Ginger, Scallions, and Hot Peppers. The flavors were well-balanced, and the fish was so good I saved it for last. Among the chicken dishes, we tried the Szechuan Style Fried Diced Chicken and the Chicken with Garlic Sauce. The fried chicken was solid, but the garlic sauce dish was a pleasant surprise—something new for us and definitely worth trying. I recommend pairing it with the spicy sauce they provide; it’s flavorful without being too hot.

The lo mein tasted fresh, like it had just come out of the wok, and complemented the mains nicely. We also ordered soup dumplings as an appetizer. They were served hot, but didn’t quite meet our expectations—we’ve had better elsewhere.

Overall, the food was satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable. Great flavors without breaking the bank.
