Today me, my wife, my daughter, and my daughter had a worst experience tasting Ramen. We couldn't even eat a spoon of it. So we just threw it. Just a waste of money.

Every time I’m in Bergen county, I must have a meal here. I recommend the miso flavor ramen; it’s flavorful but not salty. The amount of toppings such as bamboo and pork belly is perfect, but you can buy extra. The choice of a hard boiled egg with the ramen is interesting to me, but it’s seasoned well, plus you can also buy a soft boiled egg. The portion size is quite generous; a small bowl of ramen is good for 1 meal while a large bowl is good for 2. Personally, I like Combo C and B; with natto and salmon topped with ikura respectively on the side. Liking natto is definitely an acquired taste though. A combo with a large ramen isn’t more than $20 as far as I remember, so it’s for a good price given the portion size. My only critique is how crowded the food court is and you may have to wait for a seat, so I suggest takeout. Overall a place worthy to visit if you’re in or around NYC.

This ramen spot has quite a reputation, so I decided to try their Shoyu Ramen + Natto Rice. 🍜🍚 Unfortunately, the flavors were a bit too mild for my taste—nothing particularly exciting. 🤔 Would love to give it another shot with a different dish next time!

My sister, dad, and I came to this place for lunch months ago and the food there was wonderful because my sister ordered 3 pork ramen which had broth, and included salmon roe on rice, and hard-boiled egg. The atmosphere was busy and noisy because lunch time and many people waiting also near the food court.

One of my favorite

One of the best authentic ramen you can get! Stuck in a japanese market, this popular ramen shop is a hit. They have different kinds of ramen, many toppings, and combos if you're that hungry! It does get busy sometimes during peak lunch and weekend times, but they are quick with serving and getting your food ready. The flavors are packed, and the noodles are firm. I 100% recommend!

terrible service at Santouka. I asked if I can get a small bawl for my 5 years old kid. They declined it right away and told me DO NOT request small bawl ever again.

If you’re a fan of Japanese ramen and find yourself near New York City or New Jersey, this is a must-stop spot! On our road trip from Boston to Florida and back, we made sure to stop here both ways. While their prices are a bit higher than nearby vendors, the place is always packed with customers — a true testament to its popularity. We especially loved their combo options, and the noodles tasted incredibly authentic.

Japanese Ramen chain.
It’s located in a food court so the atmosphere is just ok but the noodles are very tasty.

The ramen broth is very flavorful and enjoyable, but the noodles are not very good. The meat is on the fattier side, which might not be to everyone’s taste.

ramen here is delicious! i love getting 111 (set with char siu). however, they charge extra for a to-go container. its a few cents but its pretty greedy considering i already paid for my food which is ~$20 for a set...

My family and I have become more picky with our ramen after dining here for years. A little ramen snob-y if you will. It’s that good! I’ve eaten at countless ramen restaurants now and I’ve yet to find a place that serves ramen as consistently fantastic as this specific location. I’ve even been to Santouka chains in other states but there’s just something about this one! I don’t think I could get better ramen unless I actually went to Japan.
I will be honest with you however, you will be waiting for a while on most days. The line can and will be out the door if you’re here at lunch or dinner time. Mitsuwa also doesn’t have nearly enough seating for their food court but they can’t exactly make more room! Depending on how lucky you are you will be hunting down an empty table like a stalker for anywhere between 5-20 minutes. I recommend placing your order and then starting your search while you wait for your number.
But once you’ve secured your spot and pick up your ramen (be sure to stay in the food court as they call your order number over the speakers and it can get loud) you’re in for something delicious. We usually get the Shio Ramen but if you’re willing to spend extra you can get ramen with premium pork (toroniku). I think it’s very much worth it. It’s just a cut above and melts right in your mouth. The pork in the normal ramen has changed recently but the toroniku is the same as far as I can tell. I also recommended getting an extra egg! They used to be hard boiled but recently they have made the switch to seasoned soft-boiled eggs and they are to die for. I usually let mine sit for 5-7 minutes before eating it to let the yolk firm up a little.
If you think I’m writing too much about ramen, I get it. But my family and I both agree that this is our favorite spot and has been for 5+ years. My parents have been going here longer than me and it’s become a little family favorite! I can happily say it’s ruined other ramen places for me 😝
Parking: Depending on the day, parking will either be average or a nightmare. Mitsuwa has become more and more popular while not being able to expand their parking at all. You may have to park down by the Trader Joe’s and just walk unless you’re willing to drive around the lot for 10-20 minutes until someone leaves a spot. If you’re lucky or there when it’s not as busy, you should be able to find a spot easier.
Wheelchair accessibility: The food court is only slightly wheelchair accessible. There are 4 small stairs to get to the main area of tables, but a few tables on the ground level. These are the larger tables and you may wait a while for one to open. Some tight spaces/turns but I think you should be able to make it work.
