This place is phenomenal and Bruno is such a good dude! He hooked it up. The brisket is some of the best i’ve had. Wings could not have been any crispier. The mac & cheese was also great and cheesy. Cole slaw & corn bread were enjoyable. He treated my younger brother and I very well and our only issue was that we didn’t order more. Top tier place! Try it out!

I've been wanting to get some from The Pit for a while now, and I'm glad my wife and I finally decided to order some takeout. Absolutely everything was delicious. Amazing BBQ. My wife ordered a burger, and it was cooked to perfection. Great taste. I ordered the trio, brisket, chicken, and ribs, and it was delicious. The ribs were tender, the brisket was juicy and tender, and everything had great flavor. And the cornbread was amazing! Definitely recommend!!!

Where do I begin?... I and family members have catered parties and holidays with Bruno at the Pit!!! A little BBQ spot on Rt. 5 in Edgewater. I'll start with my favorites....which is the brisket, tender savory & juicy...Yum!! Pull pork!!! Collards!!! Mac& Cheese.., they have it all!!! Fries must try!!! But most importantly, it's fresh and made to order. Give Bruno a call to order your next event or just go get a take out and taste for yourself..
This place makes awesome food! Seriously, everything I have tried is tasty for this persnickety person with the one caveat being the mac and cheese: it wasn't bad, just not my type. The burger with onions and cheese is to die for. Amazing, colorful fresh and light coleslaw and potato salad that is good as well. If only fries were healthier I'd eat them daily from this place! I hope more people learn about it. I was so close for years and had no idea! Bonus, if you eat or wait there, you usually get chill reggae music.

The food was great but the pictures are a little deceiving which was disappointing. We ordered wings expecting they would be smoked/bbq’d like the menu image- but we received lightly battered fried wings tossed in sauce instead. We would have ordered something else. The corn bread should also specify that it is $7 per piece (menu showed multiple pieces per order). The pulled chicken , French fries, and onion rings, however, were amazing.

I'm a chef who has worked in nyc my entire career of 20 plus years I have been the chef of such places as The modern, Claudette, and the Harrison...I can whole heartedly say the the pit is awesome BBQ.The chicken is always moist and juicy.The coleslaw is light , crunchy, refreshing and packed w celery seed goodness. The braised collard greens are always cooked to perfection ...soft, savory and satisfying.I usually go for the chicken but the few times I have gotten the ribs they were killer.The chef can cook...no doubt about it.I am not a BBQ expert but I know good cooking.I would put the pit up against any other BBQ joint in Jersey or the city for that matter .Props to the pit , the chef and the kitchen brigade.Thank you for always being consistent and staying true to your craft.
