Really enjoyed our group dinner here after one of my good friend’s graduation ceremony from Rutgers.
The waitress and the owner were very friendly and welcoming! We used to go to all blue a lot at their previous location near h-mart. This is our first time revisiting this restaurant at their new location, and I have to say it feels good to be here/back.
Because some of our parties had to go home to change first, our full parties were not here until almost one hour later. Even so, the staffs allowed us to sit down first, take time ordering and we never felt rushed.
The restaurant is BYOB as well. Very convenient since there’s a liquor store next door.
The foods were very delicious and all of us really enjoyed our meal.
I’ll definitely come back!
Also, we loved the karaoke machine! Thanks for allowing to play with it. 🙏
Pretty solid food all around. We ordered three dishes and they all came out quickly and tasted delicious. The cumin lamb was nicely seasoned and very tender and the shredded potato appetizer was a good starter but beware it can be quite spicy. The spicy fish soup was good too but just note that there are lots of bones in it
Very authentic Sichuan cruises!
Recommend: sliced beef and tripe in chili oil
Good: spicy cumin lamb*, wontons in chili oil, pork dumplings in chili oil, eggplant with minced pork
Ok: steamed pork bun
Meh: vegetarian fried noodles
Vegetarian fried noodles were soggy and bland. And the steamed pork bun was not very flavorful but we enjoyed the rest.
Spicy cumin lamb was maybe 3/10 spicy. We would have liked it to be spicier.
The sauce for wontons was spicy but not much other flavor. The sauce for dumplings was savory and sweet but not very spicy. Mixing them together was 👌neither dumplings nor wontons had much meat. The texture on the dumplings is better than the wontons.
The sichuan pepper frog ($70.99) is expensive but no lie it fed my family for 4 meals (with other dishes ofc). 10/10 would order again.
Other dishes are very authentic as well.
I visited the Blue Restaurant for lunch on Friday. It’s been two years since my last visit, and I had high expectations based on the amazing food I had there before. Unfortunately, this time, the food was quite disappointing. The dishes were extremely salty, and I’m not sure if I ordered the wrong ones. I’ll give it another try next time to see if the other dishes are better.
Everything tastes kinda similar and too oily. The flavors not bad just too much oil which made everything leaves that greasy layer in your mouth and need to drink a lot of water.
The service was decent, but the food was extremely oily and lacked good flavor. I’d rate the taste 2/5. Won’t come back.
The food is delicious! But 4-5pm for lunch break is a bit too late. 3-4:30 is also fine. I want to go home early to bring some takeout but have to wait until 5 o'clock??? so annoying?

First of all this place is for Authentic Chinese food. If you just need some chicken broccoli go somewhere else. Now we have that clarified let me say that this place is the Best Chinese food in the Edison area.
If you are watching some Uncle Roger weejio and wonder what the “wok hey” tastes like, you should come here. Of course soup don’t contain wok hey so please order the right stuff. For those who can handle internal organs, the stir fried liver and kidney is spectacular. If you have a more conservative palette then go for the stir fried beef and peppers.
This brings me to the only downside of this amazing restaurant. The owner is the master of wok hey but not so much the line cooks. So if this is your first time there and you are looking for some wok hey just kindly as the front or call ahead and confirm if the owner is working in the kitchen today.
Of course the best restaurant can’t just be good at one thing. Their soups and cold dishes are amazing as well. And the best part is, you don’t need the owner to be there. For non stir fried dishes I recommend the stewed roasted duck. Rather pricey at around 40 bucks but it’s definitely worth it. It’s even better when you take it home and let all the ingredients soak in that amazing broth overnight.
P.s please don’t bother the owner for take out requests. No wok hey gonna last in a takeout container.

I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant today! The standout for me was the radish, something I had never tried before, and it was absolutely delicious. It had a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors that complemented everything I ate. I also ordered the lunch combo of stir-fry beef, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The restaurant itself was spotless, with clean floors and tables, which made the experience even better. The food, service, and cleanliness were all top-notch. I will definitely be back!

Since changing places, the experience has become more and more outrageous. The dishes are always served warm, not like they have been freshly fried at all. The prices have also increased a lot, but the quality of the dishes is not as good as before. The price of my favorite lunch box has increased by 6 yuan, and it comes with an extra soup that has been watered down... I won't go there again.
