Food is pretty good. Not as consistently good each time but good option for Peruvian food in this Middlesex/Bound Brook/Dunellen area. They always under estimate in how long food will be ready. Add an additional 15-20 minutes to the the expected time they suggest food will be ready by. On the weekends they offer desserts which have been pretty delicious.

I live with a Peruvian and know good food. This food is excellent. The rotisserie chicken is flavorful and well portioned, the leche de tigre is fresh and delicious and the chifa is fantastic. Everything is very delicious. The staff was very very nice to me when I picked it up. The restaurant was packed and everyone looked happy. Don’t listen to the bad reviewers. The staff were nice and the food was extremely delicious and I know good Peruvian food.

The chicken can be the best in the country, but the service is absolutely terrible. They tell you 15mins for your food but end up waiting 1 hour. Also, my food has been lost a few times.

I have given this place a few tries. The first time we loved it. Maybe cause it was new and they were trying their best. The next times not so great. The services definitely brings them down. They seem to be bothered by you, they are just not friendly or welcoming. The chicken is good, but I feel it is a bit salty at times (it it could be the green sauce). I feel like most of the food is a little salty. Then if you ask for extra green sauce they charge for it. You get 3 sauces for one chicken combo...which is not enough. The one plus of the chicken combo is that it comes with rice, salad (does not come with salad dressing) and French fries which are actually fresh cut potatoes. We have had the arroz chaufa and it was decent. The tallarines verdes (green spaghetti)was good, but Sauce a little watery. I will try them again only because I don’t want to give up on my Peruvians...but if it doesn’t get better then I will have to say no more.

First things first: This place is completely different from Chicken Palace (CP). It looks like CP was located at an address near Lena y Carbon and some people got confused. So most of the bad reviews are for CP and I guess it makes sense why they maybe went out of business. Welcome to Lena y Carbon! I posted a tip with correct name, address and phone until it's updated by the Yelp team. So please don't be afraid to try this new Peruvian restaurant! I stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant on Grubhub, and was in the mood for something different. I like supporting local businesses especially during this pandemic because they need us more than ever. Lena y Carbon has various locations, this one is #6 or VI. The other locations listed on Yelp had good reviews and food, so I felt confident ordering from them. My order was done via Grubhub for pickup and when I arrived my food was right on time. Everything was correct, packaged properly and I knew it was freshly prepared because it smelled so good. When I got home my food was still hot and I couldn't wait to dive into it. I got half a rotisserie chicken with yuca and tostones! The chicken was well seasoned and taste was amazing. The yuca and tostones were also great and I tried the chuafa (fried rice)and there's an explosion in your mouth with the rice and seasoning! Amazing food, affordable prices, visit Lena y Carbon VI in Edison!

I decided to order this for lunch today at work looking forward to a peruvian meal. Unfortunately when I went to pick it up it was a nightmare. To start by the service is horrible, when you get there they don't even acknowledge you, the food is not even ready, I only gave this one star so I can write this review because if I could put zero I would. This place is not even called chicken Palace it's called Leña Y Carbón. I would not recommend this to anyone I encounter someone who was actually there and they've been waiting for their order for 50 minutes.. on that note I just decided to leave and cancel my order, plus they made me late to work and told me that my food would be ready in 30 minutes when i had called I got there 30 minutes later no f****** food ready.No one is wearing a mask and gloves they go in and out of rooms and handle money with the food trays open. If you want good service go to Al Toque! Horrible place, save your money and don't go there!

Good food, but some of the management staff is not wearing masks during the pandemic while they are handling people's food. Probably wouldnt go back until covid is over.
The chicken palace owners actually sold the place. They moved somewhere farther, I know because I always eat here. The food is out of this world and the green sauce is so good.

Be very careful with this place! The food is good I won’t take that away from them however if you are paying with a credit card BECAREFUL! My father paid with a credit card and when he got his bank statement he noticed they charged him more. After calling his bank he realized they added a $12 tip. They have done this to him twice!
