I usually don’t comment on Google Reviews but the cakes from this place are HORRIBLE. I genuinely haven’t tasted a worse baked good. How do you manage to mess up a simple cake? We bought many pastries to try for my birthday and it completely ruined the experience. The two cakes we bought were overly sweet and had thin wafers of cake and huge sheets of neon-colored cream. Maybe if you want to eat mouthfuls of pure buttercream and food dye you should eat at this place. AVOID THE DUBAI CHOCOLATE CUP BY ALL MEANS. We were looking forward to it, but they combine disgusting artificial pistachio flavoring into white chocolate and pour it over dry chocolate cake. Not at all what real Dubai Choolate is supposed to taste like🤮.

This place is not worth going The owner is too arrogant and the quality is decreasing day by day The mix fruit I ordered was just pathetic with no fruit in it. I m paying so much price and no fruit is just disgusting I wish I could give negative rating Please do not go here and pay extra prices for any of its products Also they put so much items on menu and nothing is available when we actually go there

I recently visited this bakery in New Jersey with the hope of trying their bread, but unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. When I politely asked the owner about the ingredients in the bread—something I believe is a reasonable question, especially for those with dietary restrictions—he responded with a rude and dismissive attitude. Instead of simply explaining or kindly stating that the recipe is proprietary, he was unnecessarily curt and unprofessional. As a customer, I believe respect and basic courtesy should always be part of the service. Sadly, this interaction left a bad impression, and I won’t be returning.

Hotbreads Edison offers excellent customer service and a fantastic selection of pastries, cakes, paninis, and breads. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a great experience every time. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Highly recommend!

I bought a pack of cookies and some pastries yesterday and they were spoiled. Stale oil smell. I should have read the reviews before visiting. Please avoid this place. You’ll end up in the hospital if you eat this kind of food.
Worst ever experience. A piece of chocolate cake costs $4 and it was so dry and hard as rock. Not worth at all.

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing and horrifying experience due to the so -called owner of the ship literally ran over me, I had taken 4 packets of bread and I offered a payment with CC card, the so-called owner started shouting on me saying we don't expect CC and I need pay in cash.. I said I come regularly here and if you don't accept CC I can pay it later since I don't have cash. He said SO WHAT? that you come to his shop regularly! I even told him that I came from long to buy bread then again he said SO WHAT? Even though the CC card machine was working and he lied to me saying it was not working.. I've seen in part when he did accept the CC from other customers, This is complete discrimination. Another employee came politely and started offering me a CC card. He refused that person and started using abusive words, he even used bad words in his language. He asked to get out of his shop.

Scam bakery with tasteless pastries. We bought 10 pastries, paid close to $50, mind you cash only because they probably do tax evasion but that’s beyond the point.
The guy at the counter kept putting the smallest pieces in the box despite me pointing to which specific ones I wanted. I also asked to ensure they were fresh and he assured me they would be fresh. When we got home in about 30 mins we found that the pastries were nearly as hard as a rock, not spongy or soft whatsoever. This is unacceptable and I can’t imagine this place passing any industry standards for freshness. They should shut down and stop ripping off customers. You can easily get much better desserts nearby for much less. This place is nothing short of a scam. Buyers beware.

I see many negative reviews in the comments but yesterday I visited this place again and I can assure you that this place has maintained its quality for the last 24 years. The food has good taste, the place is clean, and the staff are very friendly. Hot Breads is the best bakery in Edison, and I would tell you all to visit this place before falling to these negative reviews.
