We recently placed a party order with Kesar, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. We ordered idli, poori, and noodles—and every single dish left us delighted!
The idlis were unbelievably soft, and to our utter surprise, the sambar was so flavorful and delicious even without onion and garlic—a rare find. While we had ordered noodles mainly for the kids, they turned out to be such a hit that the adults gave the kids tough competetion 😆! And the pooris stayed fresh even on the 4th day, which speaks volumes about their quality.
Over time, we’ve become die-hard fans of Kesar. Their samosas and seasonal sarson ka saag are absolutely to die for. And what makes it even better is the exceptional service—Anant, in particular, is always professional, kind, and someone you can fully trust.
Kesar has truly set a benchmark for consistency, taste, and service. Every meal with them feels like a treat, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly!

One of the best pure veg restaurants in Edison, NJ. We eat at Kesar regularly (8 times in a month). The food is excellent and the staff is great. The best part is the pure veg menu.

Definitely a must try if you haven't. I cant find any negatives to be honest. This is how food should be. Food is well balanced taste wise, spice level, well cooked, nice and warm as it should be served always. Someone who was visiting jersey from out of state, in his own words as well, he described the food to be very 'homely' and enjoyed it. That should say it all. For the ones who live here, for many of us it is the go to place when eating outside. Definitely recommend the thalis. Often frequent the one in East Windsor, food is equally good at that one as well.

We went in for thalis and tried the Punjabi Thali, Special Kesar’s Thali, and the Kathiyavadi Thali. The Kathiyavadi Thali was the absolute star—so flavorful, with authentic curries and perfectly made rotlas. On the server’s recommendation, we also ordered the Dahi Puri and Fried Chilli Momos, which turned out to be top-notch as well. Overall, a must-visit place for anyone who loves authentic flavors and hearty portions!

Enjoyed Maharaja Thali with 4 adults. Taste, Service and Atmosphere is awesome but 100$ is expensive for this limited meals (not buffet).

Not traditional gujarati/kathiyavadi Thali. Also, kesar special thali doesn’t have any appetizers.
Gajar halwa was made of carrot purée.
