After moving to Edison finally found a restaurant that serves food like home. Tried so many items here and hard to pick a favorite but definitely will go with lamb rogan josh. Tender flavorful and cooked perfect

My friends and I came for vacation from Jacksonville , and we have ordered the food from Uber Eats for delivery and the taste was very delicious and it was authentic. Please keep as it is.

We have been coming to Moghul for 10+ years and have been treated like family each time. Exceptional food and caring staff. Cant recommend this place enough. Essentially a home away from home.

We went for dinner and ordered dosa among other things. The food came very fast but the guy serving us was so rude! He had this attitude and was almost throwing the dishes on our table. Never asked if we needed anything else or how the food was. They charged us a 15% tip for a “large group” and a 3% convenience fee! We were only four people. The dosa was mediocre. We have had dosa here before and it was much better before.

The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk compared to previous take outs. Spice level is quite high and may be overwhelming for those who prefer milder dishes.

Place is to be avoided in Winter unless you are okay eating with your winter coats. It was COLD. Decent looking place. Hot and Sour soup was about 2 on 1-5 scale. Chicken Malai Tikka was PERFECT. Amritsari Fish was a 2. Hakka noodles - 4. Gobi Manchurian - 4.5.

Went here last night with my family. The waiters seemed annoyed of asking for small things, when we should’ve got it in the first place, like water for the table, plates for the table, etc. I had to get up and tell the manager if we can get a server to our table to place an order as the servers there were just dodging us for some reason, lol. Anyways, when the dark skinned, gentleman came to us to place our order, he was super rude and acted superior to us for no reason at all, lmao. I didn’t really care much about it since I understand some Indians don’t have any etiquette. But, I was surprised that a Moghul branch would have staff like this in an environment where it’s supposed to be catered to somewhat upper middle class. Also, they were just slamming the clean plates in the area they keep it in by the dining tables, which was annoying because it would randomly wake startle folks.
Per the food, the monchow soup was absolutely fire with a burst of flavors. Cheese and veggie pizzas were 2/10, since they were straight up tasteless. Go to Singas pizza instead across the street or Atul Bakery. Paneer tikka masala came out like warm, like it was sitting around in the back for a while, and naan was just blah.
At the end, we still ended up giving a 15% tip, as we do have etiquette.
Overall, I’ll try the place one more time again sometime in the distant future for other things, and hopefully we’ll have a better experience.

We ordered today for Christmas and the managers there made it very difficult for us. We were ordering over the phone and as we have been ordering for them for years, they never took payment over the phone. Today they were enforcing and lying saying they have been doing this for a long time, when this is in fact a lie. Why are the managers lying at this establishment? We ordered chicken tikka masala and that is not what we received. Again, we have been ordering for years, along with dining in, and we know what the food is supposed to taste like. They gave us food that was not even what we ordered. Ruining a Christmas Day for our family. This place needs a new management team. They handled the issue poorly and could not even give us the food we paid for.

Moghul Express Edison — especially if you’re curious about their Indian-style pizza and overall experience:
Overall Impressions
Mixed but generally positive review
• Many of my visits rate the restaurant fairly high overall with good food and a broad menu that mixes Indian classics with fusion items like Indian-style pizzas.
• On food delivery platforms, it has solid ratings and positive customer feed back and repeated customers (many reviews), especially for overall food quality and consistency.
🍕 Indian-Style Pizza Highlights
What people like me love
• Several people including myself specifically call out something like “chicken tikka pizza” or “chilli paneer pizza” as tasty and flavorful, with quality crust and toppings that work well with Indian flavors.
• Fans of Indian fusion appreciate that this pizza brings a creative twist compared to standard pizzas — blending classic Indian ingredients over a crispy base.
Common praise
• The pizza options are regarded as a unique and fun choice among the extensive Indian menu.
• Some locals and loyal customers mention ordering these pizzas repeatedly because they enjoy the blend of Indian spices and pizza style.
🍛 Food & Menu Overall
Positives
• Variety: Diners enjoy the range — from traditional North Indian style dishes (curries, biryani, dosas) to Indo-Chinese and fusion pizza.
• Flavor: we praise the bold and satisfying flavors, especially in items like chilli paneer or chicken tikka.
Mixed/Negative notes
• Some of my visits point out service inconsistencies — like rushed or inattentive staff.
• A few people feel prices may be a bit high for portion size.
🍽️ Ambience & Service
• Atmosphere is usually described as casual and informal, good for family dinners or quick bites.
• worth to mention it can get busy (parking and space issues) given its popularity on Oak Tree Road.
Bottom line:
If you’re into Indian cuisine with creative fusion twists (like Indian-style pizzas), Moghul Express is a popular local choice with many fans of the flavor combo. Expect bold tastes and variety, but be prepared for mixed service experiences and occasional inconsistency — which is common in well-loved neighborhood spots.
