We recently visited "Ruby ke Kitchen se" and were thoroughly impressed. It's located away from the more popular Oaktree Road in Edison, giving it an unique charm that makes the experience even more special.

The food was exceptional. The kofta curry stood out with its perfectly balanced flavors, the aloo methi was fresh and authentic, and the karhi pakoda had a depth of taste that felt both familiar and comforting.

The kachodi, though, deserve a special mention. Made entirely from scratch in-house, they were crisp, flaky, and filled with a perfectly spiced mixture. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into their preparation, and the result speaks for itself.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian food in a peaceful setting, "Ruby ke Kichen se" is a place worth visiting. It’s not often you find such quality tucked away like this.

Prepare to be dazzled by the glitter and glamor of Ruby Ke Kitchen Se. We were returning from Princeton and stopped over for a quick tea on our way to Jersey City. What a mistake! The only good part of the experience was that it lasted for only half an hour.

My wife enters the restaurant and, within minutes, sees the hostess pick out her nose and analyze the big chunk she pulled out. While praying that our tea was not too "organic", we waited for the tea, which only took 20 minutes. In those 20 mins, we watched the staff, presumably a family-run affair, use the restaurant premises like their home. And the decor, what can I say! The tables had a glass top with makeup items underneath, such as bindi, payal, etc. You know, just your regular decor. After burning our eyes watching the glitzy decor, we finally got our tea, which we had been desperately waiting for. Trust me, it was one of the worst teas I have ever had. No ginger, no masala. I think they were cutting costs so that they could buy more payals for the decor. The final nail in the coffin was the bill which had a fixed gratuity of 15%, something we were unaware of. 13 dollars and half hour later, we decided to bid adieu to Ruby Ke Horror Se.

This heavenly place is for anyone who finds bliss in the ethnic and earthen ambience from our homes back in India and our history!
Unparalleled home-like authentic freshly made food is like nowhere else in New Jersey, items like ‘makki do roti sarson da saag’, ‘kadhi pakoda’, ‘khasta kachori’, ‘bread-paneer pakoras’, ‘chicken pulao’, ‘nani ke aloo’, ‘ginger tea’ are just some of the unique preparations we order each time, and we cross states to visit this place often, because they happily try to accommodate dietary restrictions last moment!
The elaborate tour of the historic design and interiors, the hospitality and cleanliness of the kitchens is the best and leaves one speechless!!
Thank you, Rupali and team!!

The food was so oily and salty. The owner is so rude and arrogant. I won't recommend this place to anyone. If there were negative rating, I would give that.

As someone who has alot of food allergies, including gluten, onion and garlic, i cant always find places to accompdate. Ruby Ke is my new place! The owner discussed all my allergies with me and created a made to order meal for me! It was delicious! And leftovers heat up well! Thank you so much! Oh, please remember, everything is cooked fresh, so it takes a little longer for the food. I am totaly ok with that! I want fresh and it was worth the wait!

Highly recommended to fast a couple of days before going. Everything we tasted was the best of it you can get around here and most similar genre restaurants even back in India. Service is fantastic very warm and attentive. Loud shout out to J.Shree.

Vegetarian options: Lots of North West and North Indian (like Rajasthani Punjabi) dishes

The food was all sweet.. stuffed Naan was not cooked properly and barely any stuffing in an unevenly rolled Naan. I asked for onions and lemon because we ran out of it and they charged extra 2 dollars but never mentioned that when I asked for it. Pulav was so bland, no salt, no taste or flavor, no Raita or gravy served with pulav. Worst food I have eaten so far and worst service. I felt like they are serving the food that’s cooked by the students in the cooking class they hold. Really bad experience and the prices are too high. 15% gratuity is charged if there is more than 1 person. Ridiculous. My money went waste today and my health as well.

A lot of our friends had recommended this place and hence we tried it today. Food was delicious and everything was made from scratch, including the spices. That really made a huge difference to the taste. Very authentic. Portions were good size. Ambience was really nice. It was a light day and hence we got a chance to meet Ruby herself. Will definitely go back.

This is one of the only Indian restaurants that makes unique dishes from scratch or as close as any place I’ve been. You will have to wait a bit but it’s worth it! South Indian. Everything I’ve tried has been really good! Great for Vegetarians!
