Sigri Restaurant is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving authentic Sri Lankan food. Every time I visit, I order the Hoppers, which include three regular ones and one egg hopper—my all-time favorite! I also love the string hoppers here. They taste amazing and are served with a small bowl of coconut curry and dried coconut chutney. This time, I decided to try the mixed fried rice, which was really good, along with a veg stew.

I was in Edison on Labor Day visiting my gf's family. They wanted a taste of Sri Lankan cuisine. So, we decided on the mutton and the dude inside suggested the lamprais. It had a funny odor and distinctive taste but I never shy away from anything from other cultures, especially knowing the proximity of Sri Lanka with regard to India and Pakistan. Columbo said it was a delicacy. We were dying to try it 'cuz it was wrapped in banana leaf with big tooth picks. Looked like something bushmen in Australia would dig into.
The next day my stomach intestines went into labor!! I suffered a severe stomach ache. I thought it was food bacteria. Luckily I had the day off on vacation. But my gfs family cursed for going there. Bro stick with the stuff on Oak Tree Rd. Lincoln wouldn't approve of this....

Conveniently located for travelers on the NJ Turnpike, this Sri Lankan restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. We enjoyed almost all the dishes we ordered. The kottu roti, hot battered cuttlefish, and hoppers were particularly good. The watalappam was also very tasty, though the caramel pudding was a bit disappointing. Unfortunately, the lamprais didn’t quite meet our expectations.
Overall, it’s a good Sri Lankan restaurant and worth giving a try.

The food was delicious, and I would definitely recommend the hot buttered cuttlefish. It was nice and crispy, and the inside was chewy, which made it taste amazing. Especially with the chili oil. Another thing I would recommend is the chicken kottu. It tasted great, but the beef or mutton also tasted great. The service was good, and so was the atmosphere. Would definitely come to eat again.

Visited on a rather busy weekday, Good place to try authentic Sri Lankan food (they do have great selection!). Loved the traditional rice and curry as well as the hoppers. Lampraise was bit of a miss though, but overall good experience.

Short eats are not defrosted right end up been hard or extra soggy .
Lump rice was just rice and mutton and the banana leaf smelled like it’s rotten or spoiled.
Curries all tasted the same no difference in the spices,
The owner/server busy on the phone watching videos
Back end of the store looks typical South Indian restaurant very dis organized.
Inside the restroom there is a shelf separated by a curtain.
Overall I don’t think they wanna run the restaurant as a restaurant… doing it sake of doing it …

.It was my birthday and wanted to eat lunch close to Kerala style lunch as possible. Ordered red rice and fish curry.I always wanted to try sambol too,So also ordered that. A plate full of red rice, dal, okra fry and a salad with a bowl of king fish curry and papadam came. May be I am used to more sour fish curry, it was kind of not up to the mark for my taste(not sure if that was how it was supposed to taste, never had eaten Srilankan food before).Sambol tasted like Kerala style coconut chutney to me and I felt it was a bit pricey for a small bowl. Salad was great.
My kids ordered roti with mutton curry and kothu parotta. Kothu parotta came with a bowl of some gravy which was very unfamiliar to me. Mutton curry also was very different from what I am used to.(I am more used to Indian style) I think may be more of what I am used to and what I ate there was very different. As I said I havent eaten Srilankan food before.
Srilankan Iced tea tasted like the normal lemon tea with ice,I didnt see any difference.
Friendly service but no one never came and asked if we wanted anything else.
I may go back as I want to try more.

Very nice decor. Rice and curry was good. The mutton curry was delicious. String hoppers were hard and stale instead of soft and moist. The guy guaranteed it was fresh, not frozen but that was not accurate. Not edible and had to throw away. A rip off.
Lots of parking spots.
Extra fee if you pay by credit card instead of cash.
