Had a Kalyana Saappadu lunch session yesterday. Attempt to bring the back home experience is very good. I understand that you have been running this business for a long time. I thought I could share the following: 1. Kalyana saappadu serving should be in a particular sequence. Some items are served using small spoon and other with normal quantity. 2. There is a place holder for each item to be placed. 3. if all the tables are arranged in-line as opposed to the individual table concept, that could have added some value. 4. When serving rice, in India, they use the flat vessel such as thambalam and push the rice to the plantain leaf. Maybe, you can think of using similar plate for service rice. 5. When serving rice using the ladle(karandi), it should be flipped one way only. The gentleman who served the rice for our table flipped the ladle other side. 6. Spice level was on higher side. Well cooked food should give us good experience. For some reason, my experience with spice level was on higher side.

We had a huge thali filled with 4 vegetable curries , rice , sambar , poori , pappad , and gular jamun. The taste was fabulous. And also the service was really great.

First time coming to this place. The staff was friendly and the food was served quickly. Rawa masala dosa, chutneys and Sambar were delicious.
However I would suggest to make the size of vada a bit bigger and not like an onion ring.
The dahi vada was more like buttermilk vada but the taste was good.
Not criticizing but providing constructive feedback.
Best vegetarian food, I have eaten in any Indian restaurant in US.

What a pleasant addition to south central Jersey So I have been going to Swagath Gourmet since 1990’s from Jersey City. Murali Anna, Sesha Anna and Padma Akka fed me their home cooking through tough home sick student days and my two pregnancies. This I shall never forget! Salute this family which brought in their desi naval and business backgrounds and leave us all a legacy of what a family business should be! HOME COOKED FOOD !!!!!!!
