I had their Rava Masala Dosa and it’s the best Rava Masala Dosa that I’ve ever had! Very crispy and very delicious till the last bite! Absolutely warm and caring vibes… love Swagath and their people!

I've been a fan of Swagath for a very long time when they were in Oak tree but ever since their move to Hamilton, their service has been mediocre. Food is ok feels as if one is eating food at home. Ambiance is ok nothing to rave about. Limited menu selection and the buffet is ordinary to say the least.

It's a decent place with fusion of south/north Indian dishes. And let's not forget-perfect Vegetarian food. We travelled from PA and stopped by for a quick bite. The crispy noodles...so yummm! And with decent portions. Lot of effort is put into serving the customers and the Owner is friendly enough to talk. So, instead of posting negative reviews, I suggest talk to him and help him improve what's lacking.

If you're looking for authentic not too masala laden food, gotta give this place a try. They are reasonably priced, good service and attentive to needs, and plenty of comfortable seating options. There aren't a 1000 dosas, but their offerings are true to what the food is actually supposed to taste like. Chutneys pair well together and sambar is not overpowering or too hot. Everything just works. We will be back for sure; thank you for soul enriching foods.Vegetarian options: Dosas, idly, whole restaurant is vegetarian ONLY.

The owners were very welcoming and the service was great. We ordered appetizers, meals and deserts. The Onion Pagoda appetizer was different and very tasty. I really love paneer and must say that the Paneer Tikka Masala was excellent. Also the Chili Garlic Cheese Naan was the best I have ever had! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and visit to Swagath Gourmet and will be returning. Pat & Randy from Hamilton

My husband and I came here for dinner today. We were given rasam ( complimentary) , my God it was out of the world. I don't mind ordering just rasam for this weather, it was that good. Please don't miss it. My husband had thali and I had bissibella bath. Both were excellent. We were asked twice if we needed anything. Customer service top notch. Coming again !!!

A Pleasant Surprise at Swagath, HamiltonMy experience at Swagath in Hamilton, which I visited based on a friend's recommendation, was a delightful surprise. Initially, I was skeptical due to the images on Google that showed paper plates and cups, which made me hesitant to try this place. However, the actual restaurant setting was far from my expectations - it was a proper, well-arranged eatery with cozy booths and central tables, not a fast-food style setup as I had imagined. The culinary journey began right at our table with a serving of Rasam which instantly captivated us with its amazing flavor and spicy touch perfectly igniting our appetite. We started with an order of Onion Pakora for an appetizer, while my son opted for the Mysore Masala Dosai. My wife, adhering to a no-onion, no-garlic diet, found a helpful ally in our waitress, Preethi. Preethi's polite and cordial manner, combined with her extensive knowledge of the menu, made it easy to find suitable dishes. We settled on Lemon Rice and Puri Bhaji, both tailored to fit the dietary restrictions. The Lemon Rice was a standout, offering a subtle lemon flavor enhanced by a potent lemon pickle - a brilliant idea that allows diners to adjust the citrus intensity to their liking. The Mysore Masala Dosai was another highlight, perfectly crispy and accompanied by delightful Sambhar and Chutney. The Thali was awesome, featuring a variety of vegetables that were very much enjoyable, except for one that resembled a Maharashtrian dish I'm less fond of. I passed the spinach paneer to my son, preferring to savor the other elements of the Thali, including the fluffy puris and well-cooked rice.As for the Puri Bhaji (NONG), it was delicious in its own right, a testament to the kitchen's versatility and consideration for dietary needs. Preethi's service was exceptional, providing a comfortable, homely atmosphere that was both warm and down-to-earth.Overall, Swagath in Hamilton is a restaurant I would definitely revisit and highly recommend. It offers a combination of delicious food, accommodating service, and a comfortable dining environment that pleasantly contradicts any initial misconceptions.Vegetarian options: This restaurant is a vegetarian restaurantParking: Easy Free Parking was available

We were in Lawrenceville today and tried Swagath for 1st time. I have to say we were really impressed with the thali. It tastes very homemade and very tasty. All the food was really good, the sambhar, rasam, curry and payasam was awesome. A must try place for South indian food.

What can I say except simply amazing, a rarity - a true family style restaurant with actual fresh food in an era of commercial chains. My family went here in Edison for over 30 years and my parents were sad when it closed its location there. I remembered going there as a child as the highlight of my week. I then moved to Mercer county and brought my own sons and my parents to the Hamilton location. I saw my boys have and experience the joy of warm rasam, soft idlis, crisp methi masala dosas, wondrous curd rice, etc. - the same joy I had as a child. Nothing compares for South Indian cuisine to this place - I have told dozens and they were also impressed. It's true home food. You would be truly missing out if you didn't try this place
