The Ice Cream House has to be one of my favorite ice cream parlors and was one of my go-to-spots every day after school. However, I still come back whenever I’m in the area because of how friendly and welcoming the staff is! Some of my favorite staff members are Alyssa, Leah, Nelly, and their boss: Marla! I even have a favorite item to order and that’s the Dubai Milkshake which never fails to both look and taste incredible! If you’re looking for some high quality ice cream and ice cream related items, come check out the Ice Cream House on Amboy Ave!

Can’t say enough about The Ice Cream House. They have a great selection of ice cream and all kinds of delicious chocolates. The staff is friendly and professional. They also make custom cakes (amazing) - great local business, highly recommend!

This is the best way to end your day - with a sweet treat from The Ice Cream House! The Dubai brownie is among my favorites; but you can’t go wrong with any of the fresh ice cream and chocolates they sell. Cute, nostalgic ice cream shop with genuine hometown charm. Support small local businesses!

Visited this place for the first time because of the festival. Great atmosphere but there was this shorter Asian girl working that was rude to me and my family. She was very short in her responses to me and death stared my kids. It seemed like she was in a bad mood and couldn’t separate personal life from work. Safe to say I will not be returning!

there was this dominican girl that treat us bad and was talking through the phone saying that he was tired of the clients, she gave us the wrong order and it didn’t taste like it usually taste i love the place but this the customer service by this dominican girl was really awful. there’s another white girl that treats us so good and she’s always kind

Easily my favorite place to get dessert in Edison. Versatile menu, cool decor, and outdoor seating availability all make for the perfect experience on a late summer evening. I definitely recommend the graham central station flavor for hard ice cream! Also their cakes look really cool

Delicious ice cream combinations. We tried the Strawberry Dubai cup and it was amazing!

Staff are great and cheerful. The ice cream is pretty decent and some flavors I've never heard of. I was not impressed by the crepes though. Was a bit tough and not soft like most crepes made. All in all I'll stick to the ice cream. On a side note the cannoli crepe was very tasty. Sweet and took me two days to finish, 😂

Over the past couple months my family and I have visited the ice cream house numerous times. We always received great customer service from the employees. Although the owner Marla has been there in the background, tonight was the first night she waited on us. I was ordering a waffle bowl Sunday with marshmallow sauce on top that I was going to put in the freezer at home for after dinner. I wanted it inside of one of the paper Sunday cups so it could have the dome lid on top. She told me that's not the way they do it and stated it could only be in a tray with aluminum foil on top. I was cut off guard but agreed. At the register, the aluminum foil was pressed down on top of the ice cream while she tried to squeeze it into a small bag. I began to cringe and explain that's why I asked for it to be in a cup, she interrupted me and spoke in a slow manner as if I was dumb, telling me she already told me that's how it comes. I reached over to lift up the aluminum foil while explaining the marshmallow sauce was now all over the top of the aluminum foil instead of on the ice cream(thinking shed apologize and fix the issue). In response, she told me to leave, while grabbing me by my wrist and removing my hand off of the aluminum foil. I told her that she was not allowed to put her hands on customers under any circumstances and she should know that as a business owner. She picked up the phone and called the police, telling them that I was mentally unstable and irate, even though I hadn't raised my voice or even used a single curse word. When the police came, I had a report made to document the incident -"unwanted touching and harassment". Businesses can be sued for things like this, I'll decide on that at a later time.I have over 22 years of experience managing multi-million dollar restaurant and retail concepts and would never react this way to a customer. If one of my employees did this, they'd be coached and retrained. This lady is sweet as pie as long as there are no complaints or special requests, which really isn't how customer service works. I am including a picture of my ice cream along with two screenshots of another review in which you can see she (Marla) has a problem with anything being said about her or the way that she does things at her place of business. Doing little things to accommodate a customer like letting them have 50 cents or a dollar worth of whipped cream after they already use their car to spend $30 at your establishment, putting someone's ice cream in a cup with a plastic top instead of trying to save a couple cents by using aluminum foil instead, etc... It does not and will not make your business successful, increase your customer count or your profit. Word of mouth goes a LONG way in business.... That's one of the first things I learned in management class, but we have an entire business owner that still doesn't know it. I will post this in my local community group as well as sharing my experience with people I know. If you want great ice cream, great flavors, and great customer service to go along with it head on over to What's the Scoop in Metuchen . They're friendly and accommodating there, no egos or power trips.

Great customers service but the flavors are overly sweet to the point I couldn't enjoy it after a couple spoon.

I’ve been to The Ice Cream House a few times before and always had a pretty good experience. The ice cream is solid and the atmosphere is cute.
But during my most recent visit, I ordered an ice cream and a milkshake and was really disappointed. While preparing the shake, the staff member accidentally spilled some of it on the counter… and then tried to scoop it from the counter back into the cup. That was honestly really off putting and unsanitary. We didn’t make a scene, my boyfriend paid for the shake anyway, but we ended up throwing it out as soon as we left. Sadly, after that experience, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I hope this was a one time mistake and not the usual standard for cleanliness.
