I'm a regular at Ugly Dumpling Edison NJ, when Ugly Dumpling first opened a year or so ago food prices were not so bad. But over the year as the foot traffic has dramatically improved, the prices have gone up four times to the best of my knowledge, but it could be more.
Size of Dumpling filling has gotten much smaller as well as entrees size in smaller containers for take out portions, as well as eating in. There are a few servers that do an outstanding job serving their guests, and others that serve you like they can't wait to get off work. You will know who they are when they show up at your table.
But the taste of food is pretty good. I say try them at least once and make your own opinions on Food, Service and Atmosphere..... If size increases or prices go down to match portions.... and Servers do their jobs better, I will revisit and change ratings on each category and add one or more Star ⭐.
I am writing to express my disappointment following a recent experience at your restaurant on November 4th, 2024. My companions and I arrived at Ugly Dumpling at approximately 9:30 p.m., expecting to enjoy a dine-in meal. However, we were informed by a manager, Izzy, that dine-in service was not allowed after 9:30 p.m., even though your posted hours state that the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. Instead, we were told we could only order takeout.
This dine-in restriction was not communicated anywhere online or in-store, and we had no indication that we would be unable to dine in during what we assumed were normal operating hours. This was a huge inconvenience, as we had planned to enjoy a sit-down meal and were forced to adjust our plans at the last minute. Had this information been clearly posted, we could have made other arrangements accordingly. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency in your dine-in policy left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed.
We would appreciate it if Ugly Dumpling could consider updating its policies to be more customer-friendly or, at the very least, make any dining restrictions clear to patrons both online and in-store. Clear communication is essential to ensure customers feel respected and valued.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your response and to seeing how you plan to improve this aspect of your service.

First time going, food was good the dumplings were like warm though, and the prices are decent.
Didn’t get a chance to try the food. 3 wait staff clearly saw us standing at door four 5 minutes and continued to talk amongst themselves. I don’t understand how this place has great reviews when the staff can’t even be bothered to serve you! Plus no air conditioning
