I wasn’t expecting the food to be so salty I never in my life tasted sweet & salty cabbage, I heard so many great things about this place & was disappointed. I was really hoping for better the turkey chops could have been fried a little harder & the Mac was good. The seasoning was so overpowering you really couldn’t enjoy the food. Other than that the lady at the front was a pleasure to talk to but for the price of $27 dollars it should have been a lot better. Hopefully my review will help with going so hard on the seasoning first time & I will hopefully return a few months from now to see if anything changed.

The food is absolutely delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with the food no matter what you order but the service staff is mean and unprofessional no matter how nice you try to be. I was actually shocked by the lack of courtesy. Not welcoming at all. If you want delicious food and can put up with bad attitudes then yes this is a good place.

Ordering was very easy, They called when the food was ready. Ordered 2 dinners ( Fried Basa, green beans , mac & Cheese) ( Grilled Salmon, cabbage & Yams ) it was ALL delicious. Hubby said his salmon was a little salty ( but he is sensitive with salt based seasoning) we do not live in the area but We will definitely come back just for the food.

Traveling through NJ for work and came across this gem while looking for the best Soulfood in town. Safe to say we found it….. started with cornbread it is legit the best cornbread I have ever eaten. Perfect crust, fluffy on the inside. We had Fried Salmon, Fried Lambchops, Macaroni and Cheese and Cabbage. This place is a gem. Everything was delicious. We ate inside, customer service was great. Get here early things may be out. I can assure you anytime I venture into NJ I’m gone detour here. It’s that damn good!!! Thank You guys job well done

The food was amazing, I felt like I was eating my grandma's cooking... the portions were large, the food was good quality and worth the price. My server was hilarious... they made us feel like family and definitely fed us like we were. It's a long drive from my home, but per the owners, they are planning to open another location. Hopefully, it will be closer to my neighborhood... I'm looking forward to eating at the new location... but if I have to, I may drive an hour again for a good meal.
We weren’t sure what we wanted when we first got there and asked to look at the menu. Then we decided to sit down to eat. Then this waitress comes over and doesn’t even greet us, but instead says something to the extent, “I’m assuming you guys know what you want being that you were standing there, looking at the menu for so long” . I was incredibly turned off and would have left but my friend who is always very chill diffused the situation by just laughing it off. I wasn’t happy at all. customer service is huge for me and specifically for that I wouldn’t return. The food was just OK nothing I would recommend. Was a disappointing experience. The music playlist was good …..

The actual food is good. But they nickel and dime for everything. They charge for gravy on the side. Extra hot sauce. A bag for your take out order. The bag thing is just ridiculous. I never ordered take out and had to pay for a bag. They need to invest in some paper bags for their customers and stop charging extra for a necessity. Talk about supporting black businesses? SMH sometimes they can be a bit much.

The food tastes so delicious and comforting. True finger-licking SOUL FOOD at its finest. My wife and I drive over 30 minutes to get food from this place because it’s THAT FREAKING TASTY! The staff and service is always on point too, so that helps and keeps me coming back. The food is worth the wait to me so I never complain about that. I want my food to be fresh and hot off the grill/fryer/oven/ or whatever. I usually order the fried whiting, mac/cheese, candied yams, fried shrimp appetizer, and they have the best sweet tea and lemonade in NJ - I think lol! Thank you for taking your time perfecting your craft and delivering the best Soul Food near me. I will definitely continue to support this establishment and “my people” as long as the service and food is top notch like it is here. I’m heating up my leftovers as I’m typing this review.
