The waitress was negligient all evening; the kitchen sustituted our appetizer (we ate it anyway) and the waitress later made up a story about it; we asked four times for bread and when it did arrive it was dry and cold; upcharge on caesar salads not dislosed until the bill came; the liquid stencth from the restrooms at the end of the evening left us ill and runnung for the door. It will be a long time before we return.

Very good Italian food prepared with quality ingredients the way momma used to make. Tasted wonderful. Nice atmosphere, upscale casual, tablecloths low light intimate but not too formal the way good restaurants used to be. Not the trendy cold moderne style which is cold and bland. Will be going back again!!!

My dinner was delicious. My husband's butter fish was mushy. He wasn't sure if that was the way it was supposed to be? I had spaghetti with seafood and it just needed a little more seasoning, but I ate the whole thing. With all the new building across the street the ambiance in and out was beautiful. Our waiter was wonderful and very professional (college age, don't remember his name) We'll definitely come again. 👍👍👍👍👍

Outstanding! First off...the food! The house bread was good! We started off with the fried calamari ~ delicious, tender, perfectly breaded and fried. Lobster bisque was delicious ~ just wished there were chunks of lobster, but still delicious! I had a special which was Rock Fish with jumbo lump crab meat in this awesome cream sauce (I can't remember the name of the sauce) with artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. I added scallops and my goodness...it was absolutely phenomenal! Very nice portion! My BFF had their vodka rigatoni and loved it! Very nice portion and chunks of prosciutto in it! The key lime pie was my dessert and was also delicious. Everything was fresh and quality ingredients! I've never had a bad meal from here ~ always delicious! Will continue eating here!

One of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. Pasta was cooked to mush and tomato sauce tasted like Dominos pizza sauce. Several nearby tables sent their food back and one table asked for food to be removed from the check. Service was very good and nice atmosphere but that is where the positives end.

New Year's Eve dinner, upon arrival the greeting was warm, friendly. Great table prepared for our party of 6! We felt so welcomed. Wonderful, warm and friendly waitress. One minor hiccup with one app that was handled beautifully. Our food was delicious and plentiful. Dessert was scrumptious. Very pretty restaurant. Looking forward to going back!

Food was absolutely inedible, the red sauce was so acidic and was like it came out of a jar. While we were there, two other tables complained about their food. It is a shame but would never go back or recommend.

Our Christmas Eve dinner was absolutely delicious! The servers are very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas and is warm and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant and I keep asking myself why I haven't been going there more often but I plan to in 2026!

This is a wonderful restaurant in both value and quality of food. This is my favorite restaurant in this area.

We had Nonna’s Crispy Seasoned chicken and the Pane Ripieno Di Salsiccia delivered, and we could not have been happier. Some delivery doesn’t hold up, but this certainly did.

The food is great; the service is wonderful. I had Chicken Saltembocca, which was so good that I plan to have it again when we visit in early January (see photo).

Several other folks had the Eggplant Parm and raved about it.

The menu prices are quite reasonable.

It's a BYO restaurant, so don't forget to bring your favorite wine.

Since the service is first class, too, Sal D's is an all-around great dining experience.

We keep coming back because we love that Sal's, while it's now located in the suburbs, still retains the essence of a classic Chambersburg eatery. The food is still old school delicious Italian, you get value for your money and the service is friendly and helpful. Last night, for example, I had their Chicken Caprese --- boneless chicken breast in a white wine sauce on a bed of spinach and roasted red peppers topped with Mozzarella cheese (see photo) with a side of pasta (photo) and a salad (photo) all for just $28. Crunchy Italian bread is included (photo). I mention the bread because some area restaurants are now charging for bread (unbelievable!).
