Tan May Chinese Restaurant

Our go to for take out Chinese food in the area. Soups and mains are consistently solid and well priced. Looking at some other reviews, I’d noted that this is not a dine in or a high brow Chinese food restaurant, so set expectations accordingly — the staff are super friendly, the food is made quick and is tasty and not super greasy, and you won’t break the bank for a good portion of food. We’ve tried nearly every Chinese place in Ewing and this has quickly become our go to for a reason.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are good compared to others at similar restaurants, provided you are okay with fried tofu or veggies only (no protein).

Delivery driver was very rude. I live in the seniors high-rise right behind their store. I met him at the door and he was mad because I did not have an extra tip to give him I end up paying $16 for something that cost $10, (I paid the delivery fee) he was still unsatisfied. What is wrong with these people, everybody is so entitled all of a for someone to drive half a block up the street to deliver to a senior and become so disrespectful, I will never order from them again.

They use family and friends as DoorDash drivers. Can’t track the driver to see when your order will be delivered. Been over 1 hour still haven’t received my order and I live nearby. Called to ask for an update and was told the driver has 4 more orders to deliver as well…save your time and money..order elsewhere

Ordered from there for the first time. Shrimp and broccoli with garlic sauce was horrible. Tue broccoli was under cooked and the shrimp was over cooked. Owner appeared to be overwhelmed with orders and was there with 2 teenagers who just didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. Save your money don’t go there.

I didn't even get the chance to try their food. A young boy walked over to take my order but a lady cooking in the back yelled at him to tell me they were not taking any orders. I went in at 8pm they don't close till 10pm and they have a big bright sign that says open.. It was very strange, I will never go back.

The food is good but it could be a bit better. Personally I call for pick ups and deliverys, even though service may take a while I always see their kids taking orders so that means that they are always taking orders so that explains why it takes time I guess. I've seen someone say that they were closed down by health inspection for 3 months when I saw that the post was pretty old I think they've changed now because whenever I go in for pickup the place is always clean and no rodents in sight. I would also like to mention that most of these reviews are really old!

Tan May was my go to Chinese spot it’s very hard to find good ones and they weren’t half bad so i order my usual beef and broccoli large I didn’t eat right away so when I go to warm my food up I removed it from the container and all my beef was pink like very pink not a piece or 2 but the whole thing. I decide im not gon waste 20 bucks so I attempt to cook it thru and it wouldn’t brown at all just burned, I’m so disappointed but also happy I didn’t eat right away because I may not have noticed it. Now im on a hunt for a new Chinese spot smh.

Great food and very reasonable pricing. Tan May has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for years. The General Tso’s chicken is crispy and ALWAYS delicious. They are the best in the area.
