Open late is a rarity post covid and so I can't be more grateful that I found a diner open at 11pm on a Monday. However, I wish I could say more good things. Unfortunately, I asked for chili and I think they were out. Instead of saying this they served chopped beef in tomato sauce with chili pepper and onions. It was too spicy, not tasty and was definitely not chili! The server tried to be helpful but were unprofessional. Unfortunately, they also chose to show the convention on TV and the audience made the environment hostile with their loud comments and jeers so a bad experience all around.

This is the worst diner in the state by far. Surprised they are still in business. They only care if you pay the bill not if the food kills you or not.

5/4/24We happened to drive by, so we stopped for lunch. It's a bit of an old-fashioned building.Mariana was friendly and had a bubbly personality. Helpful. We ordered the specials which came with soup/salad, entrée and desert.Chicken Matzo Ball Soup - this was goodManhattan Clam Chowder - hubby liked it, and it was his soup, so that's all that matters. But I thought it was strange that it was creamy as Manhattan style is supposed to be tomato based.Lobster Ravioli in Pink Sauce - omg, this was delicious! I wanted more, lol. The lobster ravioli itself was just meh, but the pink sauce was delicious.Broiled Brook Trout - hubby liked it, but it wasn't that flavorful. The corn/carrot and mash were generic.Chocolate Mousse - the cake part is a bit dry, the mousse part is good. Wish it was just mousse part.Rice Pudding - nice cinnamon flavor, but the rice was undercooked.

No wonder on a Friday evening there were only 5 people. Everything from the dressing(all oil) to food was horrible.. Food came out staggered and barely warm..

Classic landmark in the center of town.

Great "disco fries" (French fries mozzarella and brown gravy).

They had a location in the Bronx on Broadway near West 231st Street. I am sorry they no longer have that location. It was one of my go to places. I miss my favorite meal there: Filet of Sole with crabmeat stuffing. Baked potatoes & broccoli..Nothing or no one is perfect but they were very good.
