Location is the only reason I kept giving this place additional chances after unhappy first experiences since the new owners took over. Very expensive first of all… I can get a bagel and coffee in NYC cheaper than a bagel w veggie cream cheese from this place! Had an incredibly stale bagel one of the first visits… decided to give them another chance. Rude attitude from workers on multiple occasions. Cashier was sweeping for 3 minutes before finally noticing me and helping me out another time… I was standing 5 feet from her how don’t you see me!? Final straw was today I stopped in to get bagels to bring to the office a little after 6 AM (when they open) and was told “Sorry bagels won’t be ready for another 30 minutes” !??? You’re a bagel store and you don’t have bagels ready for opening!? Lol see ya never. Not going to mind an additional few minutes drive to avoid this place forever.

Place has fallen off since new owners. Prices went up, they skimp on the cream cheese and the employees aren’t polite and friendly anymore. ?I also revised my 2 star rating down to a 1 star for the sarcastic reply. I will not come back any time soon to patronize your rude restaurant.

No pastrami?! And you call yourself a deli? #bringbackfanwoodbagel

Generic bagel. I think they used a straight razor to cut their porkrolls too, seeing how thin they are. Also the crook of an owner kept the Fanwood Bagel reviews so don’t be fooled by the number of stars they get on here. If they wanted to stand behind their work they wouldn’t done that.

Consistently great food and pleasant, friendly service! I am always happy to support our local businesses. Keep up the great work, The Bagel Cafe!

The service is the best part. Trying to fill the shoes of a long time staple and pillar of the community is hard to do, but using fancy wording and over charging for below average food is not going to help the cause.

Stopped in for coffee and tea. It was a short walk from where we were staying.

The improvements under the new ownership are really great. New tech for the registers means they take debit and credit cards now. Updated exterior and interior are more inviting. The food quality has improved notably. Always our go to for quick breakfast

Inconsistent bagels. Depressing service, feels like the employees hate each other and the customers. I came here one morning because Babba’s looked too busy and the experience was night and day. I’ll stick with Babba’s. At least they smile at you over there. And it goes without saying the bagels are better too.

Decent bagel bacon egg and cheeseStopped and looking for the old fanwood bagel place and realized this place took over. The bagels themselves are a little more bread and not chewy as a bagel should be the bagel itself are two out of five Got a egg, white bacon and cheese. The bacon was crispy, but there was barely any egg whites on there at the bagel didn't really help itself so overall 2.5 out of five. Coffee was good. Onw was cool. Customer service was not bad.

Loved their bagels.Something odd I noticed.. my 3 year old saw the muffins placed next to counter and wanted that.Without looking at the menu, I bought it and realized that it was $4 a piece.. I never buy an individual muffin but is this a standard these days, with the crazy inflation?Parking: It's better to park in the lot right across the street

Not sure why I gave this place another chance only to be disappointed again. Taylor ham egg and cheese on a round roll might as well be just Taylor Ham on a round roll. I thought something was missing when he handed me the brown bag. It was so light I knew that this was going to be a rip off again. Don't waste your money head to Babbas bagels if you want a real breakfast sandwich...

What happened to the bagel twists?Yes, I used to come in for those whenever I was in the area, and they were always available until sometime this past summer. The first time I didn't see any, I figured they were sold out, but, if they've no longer available by the piece (I have no need for 6), I'm, not going to bother coming by.

Super rude over the phone! Bagels are nothing to write home about, but they are bagels. Not like many other places that offer bagel shaped bread. No longer the cheaper choice since new owners. They do seem more efficient, take credit cards now, and seem nice in person though.
