Yelida Bakes Dominican cakes

I have tried the tres leches in various flavors and had a Dominican cake made to order. It is the most authentic Dominican cake I have had in a long while! Delicious! The shop is always well stocked and they are well organized and friendly. Highly recommend!

This is my second time ordering from Yelida Bakes… When i tell you that this lady’s CREATIVITY IS ON POINT!!!!! Book with her. Amazing prices, amazing cakes, amazing workers but especially she is always on time. The cake is so flavorful and so moist and just delicious. Recommend 💯

Ordered cake. Submitted photo and since it was short notice, modifications were necessary. So instead of a heart shaped cake, we requested a round cake. Instead of all black on one side we requested an all white cake BUT… with the same flower designs. My husband was told the flowers had to be ordered (no flowers in stock)and that there wasn’t enough time. That is understandable. What I DONT understand is the lack of creativity if the theme was understood. When I picked up the cake my first reaction was cost vs. final result. I asked if more black flowers could be added but was told that there were no more black flowers to add more (granted the flowers were made out of frosting) then there was the excuse that this was what my husband ordered. Yes absolutely but he never said put 3 little flowers and write on the cake like it was a 20 dollar cake. The lady tried telling me that it wasn’t that she didn’t want to add the flowers, but that there weren’t any (a bakery, mind you). I literally just had to walk away. I was so upset and I didn’t want to say anything offensive. But my dissatisfaction was understood.
Granted at first my husband was quoted 140 then 95 or given the option to buy an already made cake for 80. Had we known the presentation was like this, the better choice would have been to buy an already made cake and decorate it myself.
This comes down to customer service, creativity and quality. I am a teacher. If you ask me how you can help your child read, I will find every resource possible for you, understanding that I am the expert and you may not be. Samely, you are the baker. I present you the theme and picture and you do your best to mimic that with the resources you have. I cannot understand how difficult that was. But, I take full responsibility. It happened already once before in this place and I went back for yet another disappointment. Not again though.

So remember my review above!!!That cake I paid 95 dollars for but was offered the 80 dollar one that was already made? Guess what? I just finished cutting and sharing that cake. I got gipped! That cake was not fresh. It was hard and dry like it was done and sitting for days. I wish I could prove that to you with a picture. So wrong!!!! While this establishment has good online reviews, keep in mind it does not tell the whole story. This was my experience twice. Not only was the service and presentation awful, the people who work there are not very inviting and unwilling to help..I felt like I was bothering and very little was suggested to help me out, rather there was a negative vibe.

Love the Dominican cake and the tres leche cake it’s so good!!!

My wife wanted a Dominican cake ( no, that’s not just any cake baked by a Dominican) and outside of NY, they aren’t easy to find, and even harder to find done right. We were VERY happy with what we got. The cake was excellent. Many times, the baker covers up a poorly made cake part with the filling and frosting, not here. The cake was flavorful, dense, and moist. The frosting was spot on and the guava filling was CRAZY good. 10/10, we will be back. The cost was around $50, which is pretty standard and well worth it.

The tres leches are amazing as are the other cakes available. My favorite is the pistachio tres leches in a cup- truly addicting!

Yelida did an amazing job on my twins birthday cakes. The cakes looked and tasted absolutely amazing!
