You can buy Asian vegetables and fish, especially frozen mackerel, at great prices. I just wanted to give you a heads-up: I wouldn't recommend buying eggs or shellfish here.

Thanks to the kind Korean cashier, my family loves shopping at this store. Even my young child gets excited to go to H Mart, putting on her shoes as soon as she hears we’re going. During our last visit, I witnessed a younger customer (younger than the cashier) giving her a hard time for no apparent reason. Despite this, the cashier kept her smile and continued helping her to the very end, which reminded me of my mom. I felt sympathy, realizing how challenging that must have been for her. I’ll continue to visit this H Mart frequently. I’m grateful to have a Korean store near my home and truly appreciate the cashier who always greets us with a warm smile.

I really enjoy visiting this store because, as a Korean American, I always feel welcomed by the kindness and consideration of the Korean lady cashier. Whenever I ask for recommendations on Korean products, she always gives accurate and friendly advice, which is very helpful. My friends who have lived in Fort Lee for a long time have also mentioned that, since she started working here (about 1-2 years ago), they prefer visiting H Mart over HanNam. In the past, the staff often made us feel uncomfortable, but I am truly grateful for this cashier’s warm kindness.

I'm so disappointed with their service. I wish they just post in the front that they do not bag for customers so I wouldn't have any expectations. The cashiers clearly do not want to bag for you. The cashier lady told me in order for her to bag my groceries, I need to open my grocery bag for her, so I did. And I asked her should I keep holding it like this? And she rudely said and showed me, "No, like this, open your bag in a standing position so I can put your groceries!" I couldn't believe I had to experience those kind of service at Hmart. I lived in Fort Lee for many years and being Korean American, I've been going to this Hmart 2-3 times a week for the past 15+ years. Previous cashiers always greeted me in Korean and we exchanged kind words but the service from the past few months has been so disappointing and I don't think I can go back to this Hmart again. I didn't expect Trader Joe's level service but I couldn't believe she was upset because I didn't open the bag the way she wanted and hearing her complain in Korean was even more disturbing.
