Come here for quality chicken sandwiches. The chicken is tender and juicy. The slaw inside the sandwich is light, flavorful, and crispy. Giving a refreshing zest to each bite of the sandwich.I like to think that this is the East Coast’s version of Howlin’ Rays.The only reason I’m giving this 4-stars is due to the misleading spice level. I got the spiciest level, but I did not taste any spice whatsoever. I may be biased because I normally enjoy spice that knocks me to the ground; however, I felt that Underdog’s spiciest level was not spicier than even tabasco sauce.All in all, try this place. It’s definitely worth it. Just don’t come here expecting spicy food.Edit (Oct 2021): I revisited Underdog Hot Chicken 1 year later. I have to dock 1 star from my original review. They definitely make their chicken spicier now, which is a plus. However, this time my chicken came out cold, and their slaw just isn’t the same - it tasted old and smelt of stillwater. Quality went down after a year.

This WAS my favorite fried chicken place in NJ. It was crispy, spicy and kale slaw was to die for. But it’s been a month or two now that it keep going downhill. 1. Chicken tenders only (no more bone in chicken for a long time. 2. The chicken tenders isn’t that good, it’s wet (instead of juicy), the spice isn’t consistent as well. I CAME HERE 3 times since they only had tenders… I still come hoping the flavor is back but nope. 3. The kale slaw is never the same as it use to be (the smell etc.. all off). I been coming here and been giving it lots of chances. No more. I think they change ownership.

This has to be the best spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and juicy. Portion size is very generous. Fries remind me of the McDonalds ones but better quality. You can tell they really put in the extra care and effort to make this meal special. Staff is also very friendly, which is always a plus. If you're reading this review, stop wasting your time. Just go in and try one.

Tried this spot today for the first time and got combo #3 with medium heat. The chicken was so crunchy and juicy and perfectly flavored. And the French fries were yummy too. The dipping sauce complemented the chicken so perfectly, I even used it for my fries. I’ll definitely need to ask for extra sauce next time I come ?

Wow!! Everyone needs to seriously try their chicken sandwich. I was lucky enough to drive by and randomly find this spot. I decided to try the Combo 1 (Hot-will be pretty spicy) which is the sandwich combo and it was a great decision. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever tasted. Got it with the mac and cheese and it was definitely one of the better mac and cheeses. I ended up eating here 3 times in a week!!

Great value for great food, beats any of the trending "chicken sandwich" restaurants out of the ball park- REAL generous with the chicken. Go hungry, Leave full and satisfied. Spiciest isn't THAT spicy as in it has heat but isn't like a challenge leveledit: apparently they changed the crazy dog, it was spicy. I'd say little less than habanero but place's quality remains consistent

This is my new favorite chicken sandwich joint!!! I crave chicken sandwiches and this place upped the game! It's so big, I could have split it with my friend easily. The 2 tenders are huge and stick out of the yummy butter toasted bun.The kale coleslaw salad is fresh and light. Balances well against the mayo sauce in the chicken sandwich. The only thing I would suggest is a little bit of lemon in the slaw. The fries are addictive!!!Warning: medium heat made my friend sweat and eyes water. So I can't imagine what the crazy dog heat is like.
