Went to grab lunch and they denied access & Refused my daughter’s service dog. Kicked them out of restaurant for her using a device dog because she has a disability. Absolutely unacceptable, illegal and wrong. Do not support this business.

Absolutely insane and ILLEGAL to refuse a service dog that has been trained to assist and alert in a medical emergency! The dog was out of the way, laying politely and well-behaved under the table then the staff yelled at and humiliated the woman for having her dog. The owner refused to come out or speak with the woman about the event as well. Be prepared for a lawsuit or even worse, a death if service dogs aren't there to alert during a medical emergency.

Absolutely horrible customer service and discrimination against people with disabilities. They denied access to a service animal. Refused to serve us because of our service dog. We are reporting to them to everyone for their unethical and appalling behavior. Do not recommend. They should be reported and sued. It’s a shame how you treat your veterans.

What I witnessed today was absolutely unacceptable.
I was at a restaurant in Smithville when I saw a customer being discriminated against simply for having a service dog. The individual had a fully trained medical and psychiatric assistance dog, clearly there to help manage a disability. The dog was calm, quiet, and laying completely out of the way under the table—as service dogs are trained to do.

Despite this, the staff began speaking to the customer in a rude and aggressive tone. They caused a scene in front of everyone, insisting the person leave because “dogs aren’t allowed.” The customer politely explained it was a service animal, but the staff didn’t want to hear it. They said the owner wouldn’t allow it, and refused to even come out and speak directly.

I watched this person, already trying to keep to themselves, be humiliated and kicked out for simply needing medical support. It was discrimination—plain and simple—against someone living with an invisible disability.

This kind of treatment is disgusting and heartbreaking, especially for someone who has served our country. No one should be denied service or shamed in public for needing a service animal. I truly hope the Fitzgeralds—the owners of that area in Smithville—step in and address this.

We cannot allow this kind of behavior to go unchecked. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

I brought my PTSD psychiatric & medical assistance service dog. The staff was extremely rude, embarrassed me in front of all of the entire filled restaurant of customers. They denied me access to let my service dog and me in their restaurant. Originally I was told to just go sit down at their booth where my dog fully trained and laid underneath the booth table at my feet (as he is trained to do). He was out of the way of the entire restaurant since he was directly underneath my table. The wait staff girls were yelling at me to leave. They told the owner doesn’t allow dogs in their restaurant and the owner / manager refused to come out and speak to me. Apprently the owners / managers of the restaurant said they will Not allow me to eat there.
They kicked me out of the restaurant because I had a SERVICE DOG. It’s absolutely appalling and discriminating against someone who has invisible disabilities. They refused to serve me because of my service dog and my disability. I’ was discriminated against. They embarrassed me and was extremely hostile with me since I walked in to eat lunch. I have gone to speak with the actual owners of that section in Smithville who are the Fitzgeralds. I would like to know why I was denied and discriminated against for my disabilities. This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable behavior for someone who served their time. Do not go to this restaurant. They are disgrace to human decency. I hope the actual owners of Smithville make this right. My voice will not be silenced.

Nice little place if you're looking to grab a bite while at Smithville. Ordered cauliflower bites, sweet potato fries, grilled chicken avacado wrap and cheeseburger. Everything tasted great.👍 Service was excellent. Prices are reasonable. Definitely recommended.👌

The food was amazing! EVERYTHING was delicious!

We asked for the most ordered item and our server's personal favorite. We were not disappointed with either.

The cheesesteak wrap with grilled onions and mushrooms with a side of sweet potato fries -a natural cut with a crinkle edge - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfectly done.

The Jersey Devil cheeseburger was topped with a roasted jalapeno. The sauce was just-right-spicy. We ordered a basket of battered onion rings to share. Both were served with a really good dill pickle.

Both were very reasonably priced at $12.99 each.

We would definitely recommend Lakeside Grill!

Not sure what happened to this place but everything was slow, the bacon was tasteless, and my order.was missing hollandaise sauce and tomatoes. Though I'm probably lucky I didn't get the sauce since the rest of the food tastes like old fish, and I didn't even order anything fried.

The one guy in the place was trying hard but you can only do so much with what you're given.

Eat anywhere else before you get to Smithville.

Came here cause of reviews before hitting ac. Man was I disappointed.
I ordered a burger only to hear two minutes after someone complaining about their burger while paying. I was like great. Lol. Burger was awful, it didn’t really look good. Service was just okay. But how he explained where the bathroom is, good luck. It’s not in the building. Honestly I think they get rated so high because the surrounding environment is pretty.
