Omg, if you haven't tried a real Jewish deli try this one! Their salads are so good, tried several all so good. Had to do takeout order. Had their chopped chicken liver and was in heaven so good and hadn't had it for years. Took soup home, also.

I had the sloppy joe which was an interesting combination of meats. The coleslaw on rye was different. I enjoyed it but it was a bit pricey for the sandwich. Great for a once try but not enough to make me come back.

It’s been a bit of a stumble lately. Pastrami wasn’t right….. it’s always been stellar so I’m not sure what happened. Portions still good and please take this the right way but the food was always made with love. That seems to be missing on recent visits.

Worked here 40 years ago in High School. I dont live in NJ anylonger. I was in town and thought I would stop in for lunch. I was said to learn that Fred, Murray and Morty's family no longer own the resteraunt.

Stopped by Fred & Murry’s last week expecting a classic kosher‑deli fix. Some things hit the mark—fries were crispy perfection, and the pickles definitely delivered. But the pastrami? Tough and bland this time. The matzo ball soup was more noodles than anything else. Staff were polite but seemed indifferent when I flagged issues. It’s a real hit-or-miss spot: on certain visits it feels like a neighborhood gem, on others it barely registers. Decent for comfort food, but don’t expect consistency.

Was very disappointed with the food. The meat was dry, chewy and tough to eat. Matzo ball soup had absolutely no flavour, matzo ball was also tasteless. Big let down, would not go there again.

As a kid, my family would go to this establishment and get all the delicious appetizing foods. My friend is kosher so we went there for dinner. My grilled chicken was really good and my friends hamburger was also good. They give you a large salad with the dinner and plenty of pickles..
After dinner I took home some pastrami and Hebrew national salami. Yum..I recommend this place.

Not terrible, however be forewarned; the meats are pre packaged deli meats sliced and made into sandwitches. These are NOT fresh, on premise cooked meats as you might find in a real Jewish Deli!
Just a quick reply to your reply, I had the corned beel and if that was cooked in house I appoligize for my mistake. It certainly presented and tasted like the corned beef I buy from my local supermarket.

Stopped in for lunch. Shared a Chicken Liver on Rye with a friend. Being from Bklyn, I'm spoiled with great ethnic foods. Happy to find an authentic Jewish deli in Freehold.

Fred and Murry's Kosher Deli delivers an exceptional dining experience, blending quality food, attentive service, and a warm atmosphere. We visited on a Thursday evening at 6:00 PM, and though the restaurant was not overly crowded (about 30% full), the service was prompt and efficient. The waitstaff quickly took our orders, and the food arrived promptly, fresh, and hot.
I opted for the Sloppy Joe, which was generously stacked and packed with flavor. The rye bread was perfectly fresh, complementing the quality of the meat. However, the standout of the evening was the side order of French fries we shared at the table. These weren’t your typical string fries—they were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making them a delightful surprise.
Fred and Murry's also offers classic Dr. Brown's sodas, and as a fan of the brand, I especially enjoyed the Black Cherry. In terms of affordability, this deli is reasonably priced, especially compared to other kosher delis I’ve visited in the past year.
Discovering Fred and Murry's while getting my car serviced at Ray Catena was a fortunate find. For anyone who enjoys top-notch deli sandwiches, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended for its great food, affordability, and overall dining experience.
