Just had my daughter and future son-in-law’s engagement party there. All I heard from my guests was how awesome the food was. Owners and staff did a great job! Food served hot. We opted for family style since we had a large party.Dietary restrictions: We had gluten free guests and they were greatly impressed on how they were accommodated.

Excellent menu choices, all courses are served in perfect sized proportions! Most importantly the service is stellar! I would recommend the Chicken Cordon Blue!

Never went took 20 minutes to get a person of the phone. Then when they did it was broken English from a Mexican man telling me to call back in 30 minutes for a reservation for almost 5hrs later. Yeah ok! I'll eat here. F-this place.

Late one Saturday night my wife and I made a last-minute decision to go out for dinner without the kids. We had planned to go to one of our usual dinner places in Freehold – Chen’s Bistro (formerly known as the Szechuan Star) in the Barclay Square Shopping Center. Upon arriving we found the restaurant was packed with a 25-minute wait for a table for two without reservations. We had eaten here many times – mostly when it was the Szechuan Star – but never had a long wait without reservations before. So, we left to visit the new restaurant in the same shopping center – the New Wine Restaurant, which replaced the old Windmill restaurant. This was our first time at this restaurant. Upon entering, we found there were several empty tables and no waiting. Everything looked clean and new with an attractive decorative wood grain floor. The hostess led us right to a table for four. Walking through this restaurant I realized it is like two restaurants in one. The front half of the restaurant was designed for casual, fast-food dining with a large pizza oven behind a counter on one side; a mixture of booths with tables and tables with chairs along the walls and a large open space in the middle of the room. (I assume the open space was to handle takeout orders during peak times.) The back half of the restaurant was designed for fine dining with chairs and tables topped with upside down wine glasses in a brightly lit room. It was fine dining without the traditional white tablecloth, candles, flowers and dimmed lighting. The room itself was very simply decorated with wine themed pictures on the walls and large bay windows. Instrumental jazz music can be heard playing throughout the room as we dined. Like the restaurant, its menu was also two in one. One side featured fast food and pub food – like cheese fries, onion rings, chicken fingers, chicken wings, Philly steaks, burgers, sandwiches, subs, etc. - and the other side featured personal and family size pizzas and complete dinners consisting of a main course with a choice of salad or soup and a side dish. They also offered a choice of drinks which included many non-alcoholic, frozen fruit drinks (mango, strawberry, soursop, passion fruit and lemonade) as well as wines. There is also a choice of desserts – chocolate lava cake, tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, lemon mousse cake and a gluten free Peanut Butter cake. The place had a nice family feel to it. We were there as a couple, but the back room had two large groups of 8 to 10 people dining together at combined tables. There were lots of lively conversations. Our server - who was friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout our visit - often engaged in side-conversations with the diners. Our dinner began with complementary bread slices and butter. My wife ordered a soursop frozen fruit juice to drink while I ordered a sangria. Soursop is a traditional Caribbean fruit which my wife is very familiar with, but she was not 100% pleased with her drink. She said it was just ok. The server offered me a choice of white or red sangria, and I choose the red which was good. For our main course my wife ordered a Brooklyn style, thin crust personal pizza with mushrooms and peperoni. She said her pizza was very good. I ordered the Jack Daniel glazed salmon which comes with a mixture of potatoes and string beans and choice of soup or salad. I choose the pasta fagioli soup. According to their website the Jack Daniel gazed salmon Is a signature dish and popular with diners at New Wine. I thought the salmon with the potatoes and string beans were very well cooked. However, the glaze was not that noticeable – adding just a slight sweet taste to the dish. I enjoyed the dish but thought the presence of the Jack Daniel glaze should have added more flavor. The soup was tasty however it was not a hardy soup. In fact, in hindsight, she may have served me minestrone soup instead of the pasta fagioli I ordered. Pasta fagioli should be mostly pasta and beans and is typically served thick like a stew. This soup was tasty but light on substance. There was lots of l

This weekend we had our twin sons baptism party at New Wine Restaurant. Ill start by saying I called last minute, as we decided to not host at home and to have it out. The owner was SUPER sweet and tried to accommodate me regardless of the last minute event. He made the process seamless, which I came in head to pick what I wanted to serve. He was the nicest man, and was thrilled to hear we have a ton of kids coming! The place was very cozy, staff was amazing and sweet, and our guests were so happy with the food. Not only did the food keep coming, it was Amazing quality and taste. This place doesn’t skimp when it comes to portions, refills, and the size of the shrimp! Every part of this last minute event was great. Please support this small business, who has such a great owner, caring staff, and AMAZING sangria pitchers!!!This will be my new go to in town.

Was craving spaghetti and meatballs and ordered delivery. I don’t understand all the great reviews. The meatballs had a weird color to them on the inside, and the marinara sauce was barely edible.

The Brooklyn thin crust margherita pizza was decidedly not Brooklyn style. It was some crappy, stale cracker crust in a weird square shape. The sauce was awful. It had no taste and was sporadically placed in globs. They decided to add fresh mozzarella and processed mozzarella for some reason, so the fresh globs sat neatly and uniformly above the melted mass of processed cheese. The pizza was floppy and limp. Everything was overpriced, including the mediocre cheesesteak. It was on a small roll, uncut for some reason. The meat needed to be seasoned, but otherwise it was alright.

Went there with my Family this past weekend and won't be Returning! Food Was Bad they got 2 out of our 4 orders wrong the pizza was the right one but might be worst pizza ever! My brother in law ordered a California Burger after about 20 minutes a Bacon Chesse Burger got thrown in front of him with no fries which they asked him if he wanted! They got the Cesar Salad Right!
