Beautiful place. We ate outside next to a running water fountain surrounded by flowers and trees. The tree overhead protected us from the light rain.
Egg salad and breakfast sausage was delicious. Their iced coffee had cinnamon in it.
There was only one server so we had to wait awhile to get our coffee and then our food. 10 minutes after we finished eating I just went inside to pay the check so we didn’t have to wait any longer.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience in hopes it’s received constructively.
During my visit, I was holding my 10-month-old niece while walking around to keep her entertained, and we briefly stopped by a high-top table near the window. She sat there for a few minutes as we watched the rain. What happened next was incredibly disappointing.
A woman who appeared to be the owner approached me and, in a very harsh and condescending tone, said, “You know people sit there, right?” The implication seemed to be that we were doing something wrong or disrespectful, which couldn’t be further from our intention.
What upset me wasn’t the concern she might have had — I completely understand wanting to maintain the space — but rather how it was communicated. The tone felt unnecessarily rude and shaming, especially given the innocent nature of the situation.
It’s truly unfortunate because the space itself is beautiful and charmingly designed. I had been excited to visit and would have loved to return. But that brief interaction left a sour impression and made us feel unwelcome.
I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it’s intended: as a reflection from a customer who values kindness and believes the way we speak to one another matters — especially in a customer-facing business.

Arrived… walked in, unsure if we seat ourselves, waited about 10 minutes.
Then walked around where someone can see us.. and still waited we were confused.. just for the lady who looked to be the waitress say “good morning” and then to continue to keep doing her business… also don’t see toddler seats.
The idea of it is cute but possibly needs someone to be trained on customer service.

Little secret gem. It's a special little place. Eclectic, whimsical and beyond unique. It's slow-paced, home-made and fresh. I have to say thank goodness the menu is somewhat short. I usually order two dishes for myself. While you wait you can walk around inside or outdoors. Take photos. Take it all in. Outside is a garden nursery, Calgo Gardens with tons of plants and garden statues. And there's also a gift shop with the most unique items. Its a great spot.

I ordered the avocado toast, which came without the sprouts. Not sure if they were out of them, but no one mentioned it, and I didn’t bother saying anything because I was already frustrated with the service. The food itself was good the smoked salmon on the side was a nice touch but the service was atrocious.
There was only one person cooking, and the waitress seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, wandering around stressed out over the smallest things. Despite asking multiple times, she still got my eggs wrong. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast, which is excessive considering the basic nature of the meal.
Seating is also an issue. The pictures make it look like there’s plenty of charming outdoor space, but in reality, there are very few outdoor tables. If those are taken, you’re stuck eating inside, where the vibe is nothing special. It got so busy that they stopped serving breakfast at 11. When two people walked in asking for a table, the waitress looked like she was about to have a meltdown.
The outdoor area is beautiful that’s the one highlight but overall, the experience didn’t match the expectations. Definitely not worth the wait or the stress

We went to Calgo Gardens for a gardening workshop which was very informative and fun. Afterwards we went into the cafe' for an early lunch. We loved the rustic atmosphere. The staff was very nice and food was excellent.

A great cozy Cafe with excellent food, superb waitstaff, and coffee to die for!!!
Recently moved & was looking for places to eat near me. I had no idea how cool Calgo gardens is that this cafe is attached to. After shopping around the store & gardens for an hour I came here to eat & was too late for breakfast but they let me order it anyway & all of the food we ordered was delicious & our waitress was so sweet. The atmosphere is so warm & quaint rustic barn house vibes with a lot of the small business local artist fair trade art which is so cool. Definitely one of my new favorite places in monmouth county now!
A funky and cute little cafe on the property of Calgo Gardens! A great place for breakfast and lunch. We had an egg sandwich and egg salad sandwich! Everything very fresh!
Went here on Sunday for a baby shower and it was fantastic. The food, the ambiance, was great! Would totally recommend. I had a tomato stuffed with chicken. I have been thinking about it ever since because it was soooo good.
