The food was very good but expensive . A flounder special was offered for 40 .oo which is outrageous to me . Coffee and tea refills were an extra charge which was a surprise .

I would scan through the reviews for this restaurant before dining here. The food is delicious courtesy of the chef, but unfortunately, the owner is incredibly unkind and combative (both in person and in her responses to people's negative reviews here). Again, I don't have anything derogatory to say about the food, but I don't like to give my business to people who are cruel. Cursing at customers and being emotionally abusive to staff are both unacceptable.

We usually get take-out. One of their gyros and desserts after a long day makes everything better! The Moussaka is excellent. Kebobs have just the right spices and are delicious. There aren't many authentic Greek restaurants in our area, so we feel lucky to have Athenian Garden to count on for good food. We love this place!

I raised my children just around the corner and always passed by and saw lots of cars outside and for whatever reason never dined at Athenian’s til tonight No longer a secret or a hidden GEM Our server David was exceptional knowledgeable and attentive The best calamari I’ve ever experienced hands down The pork chop and Chicken Oregano was as good as if not better than any other local place including AC Casinos. Seafood special over Pasta was fresh and exploded with flavor galore The appetizers of Grape leaves and Ceasar Salad were outstanding I thought Althenias was simply known to be a great Greek Restaurant with limited Food options but to my surprise it offers an amazing delicious variety of homemade cuisine in a nice relaxing setting in friendly Absecon Guaranteed to impress you will not leave disappointed or leave hungry One of the best meals I’ve enjoyed in South Jersey

This was our second time at this lovely restaurant and I have nothing but great things to share about it!! The atmosphere was so good that it made you forget that you were on a main road in Galloway. The food tasted so fresh and authentic. We got the Skordalia dip as an appetizer and the shrimp/ chicken/ swordfish special kebobs for dinner. The wait staff was super professional and charming. They did a fantastic job describing the specials to us. We will definitely be back again !! Thank you !!

It's quite appalling to see how a business owner responds to clients who are stating concerns about their experience. Instead of handling it professionally, you reply to paying customers/potential customers like an angry child. When my husband was booking a reservation for a large party, you did explain that you did not accommodate more than 10 people but went on to say that you would "work something out". Never in the conversation did you specify you would split tables for the party. If you had been transparent with us from the beginning or had at least called us back with this information, we could have booked elsewhere that would have accommodated our party, no issue. Instead, when we arrived and inquired, your nasty attitude was the reason why we walked out and spent $500+ at another business that didn't assume we weren't good for it. Change your tune and maybe you'd be open for more than a few hours a day. Can't wait to see what unprofessional, immature response you come back with for potential customers to see. It's too bad there's no option to reply to your disgusting replies because after the one you left my husband's, he would have ripped you a new one.

Manager was unprofessional about our large group. She was yelling from the back/kitchen about the situation. Never ended up eating there and probably never will. Although we made a reservation, you probably won't need one considering it was a Friday night and only 1 table of 3 was occupied. Smithville is nearby with better dining options.
Wheelchair accessibility: The door is heavy to enter the restaurant and there is a big lip/step to enter. The ramp also seemed steeper than the ADA recommended slope.

The staff was incredibly rude, so rude that my entire party walked out without ordering a single thing.
I called ahead to make a reservation for a large party. When I arrived, I found out they were literally seating us at separate tables. There was plenty of space to put the tables together and not only did the owner refuse, but she became highly combative and rude to everyone. She made it seem like it was our fault that she made a reservation for a party that they apparently didn't have capacity for (despite the fact that the place was empty.) Instead of being apologetic or trying to help, she became aggressive and rude which is why we chose to take our business elsewhere. Never again.
