We recently went to La Mesa in Galloway for brunch, and it instantly became our new favorite spot! For a brief moment, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. The host, owner, and bartender all went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty, and that kind of hospitality really stands out.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can truly tell that the Vasilev Family puts their heart into sharing their family recipes. Every dish tasted fresh, authentic, and homemade—absolutely delicious!
If you’re looking for amazing food, reasonable prices, and service that makes you feel like part of the family, La Mesa Tequila and Taco Bar is the place to be. Highly recommend!

TL DR: This was more expensive than NYC for lower quality.
CONS: The service was tepid at best. Not very friendly but not rude either.
They waited a while after we ordered to bring out the chips as well (maybe to avoid people from dine and dashing) instead of when we got seated.
Food was bland and considering the price not up to par with the price. The fajitas were bland and the corn tortillas were 'meh'. My carne asada was overcooked as well.
PRO: The positive was that the music was not too loud so we could actually hear the conversation at the table (why I have 3 stars for the atmosphere).

We have been coming here quite often lately and the experience has been better everytime. The owner is always at the front door greeting people and is one of the friendliest restaurant owners I have ever met. The guy deeply cares about the quality of everything he serves and loves to have good conversations beyond just hey how are you doing. His sister runs the bar and makes phenomenal drinks with an ever changing list of specials that never disappoint. We live in hammonton that has numerous authentic Mexican places yet some how the food and drinks here top all of those, enough so that we make the drive out almost weekly. Years ago when they first opened we had a few bad experiences here but I think he had a partner that didn't work out. Either way if you've never been here before or didn't like it years ago, definitely check it out. Everything on the menu is delicious, good specials and the nicest family running the place you'll ever meet.
Food was very bland I got combo fajitas with no seasoning whatsoever beans tasted like they were sitting out all day and scorched like 125 dollars for 3 people could get better elsewhere

No matter how many times I ask to unsubscribe and block their number, I continue to get text messages from this place. How many numbers do they have to harass people with?? If their food was good, maybe they wouldn't need to text and text and text from different numbers when they get blocked.
First time and it will be the last time. Food was terrible it had no flavor at all. The service was terrible as well it took more than an hour just to get my food .

If you’re looking for real authentic Mexican food … this is the place to go. We have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered off the menu and we have done both take-out and dine-in. The margaritas are also one of the best we have had.. made to order. The atmosphere is fun and the owner is very friendly and makes sure everything is to your liking. Dine local.. you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered Birria tacos they were good. Personally, I would not order here again because it does not have an authentic flavor. I would say this is good Mexican-American food.

From the warm welcome when you enter the restaurant to the genuine conversations with the owners themselves, this place is the true definition of a local small business! Their happy hour menu has many options and the margaritas are incredible! Recently tried the birria nachos and we were blown away! 10/10 recommend
