I only ordered a bagel with cream cheese because the woman behind the counter wasn’t too friendly so just thought I’d grab something quick and get out the way. I tried to make friendly small conversation asking of the history of the bakery, complimenting on the smell of the bakery and how the ambiance of the bakery was very relaxing. I was met with cold, one word answers. There was no smile or welcoming demeanor. I wondered was I being treated like this because I am a stranger to the Smithville community?
Needless to say the bagel was nothing extraordinary, I was given cream cheese in disposable cups to apply to the bagel myself. I walked out of the bakery admiring the scenery of the small town shops and the community members enjoying themselves and wished I had a great experience.

I ordered a sheet cake for my daughter‘s bridal shower, which I had at Fred & Ethel‘s Tavern. The cake was beautiful and delicious. The guests could not believe how perfectly it matched the theme. Thank you for your attention to detail!!! 💜

We ordered a graduation cake from Smithville Bakery and it was absolutely perfect! 🎓🎂 The buttercream was delicious—not too sweet, just right—and the vanilla cake itself was light, moist, and full of flavor. Everyone at the party raved about how good it was! The decoration was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I would definitely use Smithville Bakery again for future celebrations. Highly recommend!

Wow! Heavenly baked goods! We enjoyed a cookie, Apple cranberry roll, pretzels, and… you just have to go in. There’s a restaurant area too!

Highly recommend the Farmer's Breakfast. 3 eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, pork roll (ham), home fries, AND the coffee ($3.50 value) all for $13.95. Not going to find that deal in most places, especially the Atlantic City area. The meal was delicious and satisfying. My daughter had the the kids plate of 2 eggs, bacon, and toast. It too was quite a generous portion. Place looked like a old English barn so it was quite charming. Highly recommend.

Being out of the area for seven years we returned to enjoy one of our favorite breakfast spots, The Bakery, this morning. Upon entering, the tables were so close together that we could barely manipulate a clear path to get to our table. The air conditioning, if on, wasn’t working adequately to even present a comfortable atmosphere. We felt completely rushed to put in our order and then ignored to get me more coffee when I asked, yet came through with the pot and couldn’t get to my side of the table to fill my cup. So again, I didn’t get my cup refilled. Although the food was delicious , the experience as a whole was the worst we have ever experienced at The Bakery. It was a hassle to get our check, being told it’s at the register then being told it’s at the table once we got to the register. When we got to the register and attempted to tell the young lady at the register about our frustrations and asking if ownership had changed, we were rudely told “It’s busy, sir!”. This was by far the worst treatment and lack of service we have ever experienced at The Bakery. Needless to say, we will sadly never be returning to what used to be our weekly favorite breakfast spot.

Service was extremely slow. Food did not come out right. We had to send back two different dishes. Eggs were over cooked and the other dish wasn’t cooked enough. One person had a DIRTY sweet and low wrapper at the bottom of her hot chocolate mug that she found after she drank. Clearly this mug was not cleaned and the kitchen is dirty. We brought everything to the waitresses attention and they gave her a new hot chocolate but it was already drank and my friend was disgusted after. When I called to tell them about it they denied that anything was wrong. I do not recommend anyone eat here at all for their health if nothing else.
