My wife and I were sailing out of New York on October 23rd. We always stay at a local hotel the night before. I did a Google search for a small local Italian restaurant nearby and stumbled on Cavalino's. I made reservations not knowing how crowded Sunday night would be. What a great find. We walked in and didn't even give our name and we were seated immediately. it quickly became evident that Marcelo was the maitre d, waiter, bar tender, busser and chef. What a guy...
Great place, right under my nose. Located in my neighborhood , it was a pleasant discovery. Marcelo is great, and funny, helpful, very accommodating, food is really good, the steak is really really good. And I worked in a steak house for more then 15 years. I know steak. I'll be going back definitely!!!
The Early Bird Special alone is a reason to come here (Soup, Salad, and Main for $18). My friends had the steak and I had the meatballs. All were yummy! The service was also good. I will definately be back.
