I was a new customer so I didn't feel welcome only because everything I ask for they didn't have it . Especially cornbread wasn't up yet and that's what I mean about Black own restaurant they never have things ready or they run out but when I saw them Bring the corn bread up, sje said she can't cut it because it's still hot and then ske made a remark to her coworker about it thoughtni didn't hear her anyway I be back with a taste review. I did get the lunch special After we waited so long because it wasn't up Yet but when I got it it was salty and bland and the peach cobbler mine and my husband was watery full of water another customer wrote a review about their peach having water in it so overall I will never eat their again point blank

11/30/25 I ordered online. The DoorDash online order said “oops there was an issue.” So I did it again. Same thing. Then I went and ordered on the website. When I got there. The DoorDash app had charged me even though it said there was an error. So they prepared both orders. I was willing to just Go ahead and pay for both. But the wonderful lady insisted(forgive me for not Remembering your name Queen) and refunded the DoorDash error. Told me to keep the extra food.
Now listen about the food. I used to come here all the time when I lived in the area and now I come every now and then because of the drive. The food is always amazing. Everything is good!!!! And the customer service as you can read is excellent. Support them!!! And thanks for not holding me accountable for a DoorDash error. I appreciate yall.

The sweetest staff and the best soul food you can find in Jersey! Collard greens and fried chicken are a must
I can’t rate the food because I didn’t get any. Walked in to the location on Whitehorse Pike on a Sunday. Four employees behind the counter. Two DoorDashers picking up and me are the only customers. I’m asked if I’ve placed my order yet, I respond “No”. She proceeds to do answer the phone and take orders. A regular walks in and strikes up conversation, then orders food from same lady that ignored me. I ask another employee putting together orders, If I can place my order and he tells me at the end of the line. I’m clearly at the front of the line. Been standing there for at least 5 mins. The place is only but 20 sqft. Disgraceful. Would have been a first time customer. You only get 1 first impression. Aunt Bertha won’t be seeing me ever again.

Food and people where great. My only complaint was that I ordered my wings hooked and when I got there 30 minutes later, I was informed they didn't have the sauce . I will be back because the food quality is always good at this location.

Haven't had real soul food since moving up to delco. Took a 30 min drive and ended up in heaven. The food was incredible, flavorful, tender, perfectly seasoned. The range of food they had was amazing too. From standards like ribs, chicken(fried and baked), greens and Mac and cheese. But also chitlens and pig feet. The service was incredible, they made us feel at home and we're super nice and friendly. Definitely gonna make the trip again.
