Was charged $33 for a mediocre buff chic pie & 2L. This was a few weeks ago and I'm still baffled

Edit: not a weight, thought about grabbing pizza and remembered what a mediocre place this was:)

And sure, happy to help you understand what could be better! I see you keep referencing the great ingredients you use, but the buffalo chicken pie i ordered was just some shredded chicken that looked like it came out of a can slopped on a pie. I didnt know what I was looking at. Maybe this is when you were still figuring out your recipes, but would highly recommend trying out chicken cutlet next time! Also charging $6.50 for a soda is just insane 😂

Hope this helps!

I miss the old guy. My chicken parm sandwiches had better bread, better cheese, less sauce and more, thinner chicken (my sandwich had a huge cutlet but it was undercooked and the bread was so huge sauce squeezed out). They also cost 25% less. The old two slices special was pretty good too. I’m sure that they make other dishes well but this used to be my go to spot. Luckily, the area has a ton of other pizza and chicken parm sandwiches options.

I ordered a GF Nonna's pie that was on a homemade gluten free crust! It was delicious! They also do GF chicken parm, marsala and Piccadilly! Wonderful, family owned, and understanding of GF restrictions. Highly recommend!

Iggy’s Pizza is absolutely the best in Hawthorne. Their pizza is delicious and their extra crispy crust makes them stand above the rest.

I love coming here, the guy at the front who is the owner I assume is always very nice to me. He remembers I have a toddler and always cuts my orders in half for her (even when I forget to ask.) The pizza is also really good!

Had an interesting dining experience at Iggy's in Hawthorne today, 9/30/24. Have been a regular customer for some time and have never had a problem. Ordered a hot sandwich as part of a larger order to be picked up. Got it home and saw the bread was a little burnt and hard. Asked the owner to change out the bread and he refused. He indicated the sandwich was perfect and he felt there was no way he could further please me, the customer. He said a "homeless man" would gladly eat the perfect sandwich as made so it should be good enough for me. He said he only makes the pizza and it is not his fault I cannot eat it. He threw the $10.00 I had paid him earlier for that part of my order on the counter and pointed me towards the door. To say the least, I was completely shocked given I had never experienced a problem before. Left the money on the counter. As I exited, the owner yelled out, "you forgot your money". I said, "keep it". I consider it a lesson learned and thank you for pushing me to your competitors in Hawthorne.
...Responding to the response as communicated by the owner...Loyalty works both ways. As I mentioned, I was a loyal customer who was treated with extreme disrespect by the owner. As a business owner, his overall customer service should include an appreciation for his customers he serves. Given his actions within my encounter, it seems he missed that lesson.
