OMG I came all the way from Missouri just to try their food and when I tell you, it’s so amazing I literally felt in love. Their jerk, chicken, rice, and peas, and cabbage is one of my favs ?
Undercooked chicken at the GYPS location
The reviews must be bought because it no way this is “authentic” Jamaican food. I never had jerk chicken with zero seasoning! They just put some sauce over it that smells like some jerk sauce but it literally taste like nothing. The beef patty was overcooked. I ordered on DoorDash and paid $12.99 for my meal and $3 for a beef patty. They supposedly is based out of Paterson NJ but it’s impossible that Paterson residents who are mostly “Caribbean” is giving this place business. For $12 you can get a far better meal with more than two piece of chicken in Paterson at mostly any Jamaican restaurant. Maybe you’re on a diet and want to have a “cheat” day. This might be for you. It’s definitely not “Jamaican” tho. This is literally “browse YouTube for a decent recipe”
Finally found a Caribbean Catering company that shows up on time and gave me options for my accounts. They are so professional and that’s a plus!

They completely won me over with the food quality. I could taste the mixture of the seasoning. The servers were really customer oriented. they'll definitely be seeing me again.
I caught up with this food truck at Maplewood stock in Maplewood. The food was great, price was reasonable and the servers were excellent! I hope to see them around again soon.
