For over two years we've driven over 30 minutes to the closest German restaurant to our house, for my birthday dinner in 2018 and 2019 and a few other times besides, only to find Kirker's closed without announcement. This restaurant is not professionally open - it may have a great kitchen and bartenders (I wouldn’t know), but if they can't be relied upon during their publicized hours it is not a place that I can recommend.
Had a awesome experience in this place with my wife. The food arrived quickly and the service is just excellent. Prices are reasonable.
The service isn't near as good as it used to be. I always come for their big pretzels, so that's what I ordered, but the waitress told me they ran out, which was a first. I ordered buffalo wings with fries instead and they forgot to bring out my French Fries, but the service was so sluggish that I didn't even bother to bring it up when they brought the check. A week later, I called in for an order for one of their Big Pretzels when they were apparently open. I called three times and they never answered the phone. It's sad cause this was my favorite restaurant in Hawthorne and now it's just a huge flop. It shouldn't even be called Kirker's Inn anymore because that's not the restaurant that I grew up with.
I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I must say the customer service is always excellent and they keep the place neat at all times. Prices are affordable and they serve large portions.
If you are looking for authentic German food...this isn't the place folks. The menu is a mish-mash of German, American, and Italian food. Two of the beers that we requested off of the "Specials Menu" were not available as well as some of the appetizers. The food was decent at best.
Great food, kind staff, constantly good atmosphere. They charge reasonable prices and the food quality is awesome. 5 stars.
Very good food and drinks
I regularly stop by buying some food here. I enjoyed the prompt customer service and well made dishes. 5 stars.
Good German food, small atmosphere. Quick and competent service.
Unfortunately Kirker's Inn is not the same. We won't be going there anymore.

Alright food, but it just isn't as good as it used to be. Had the Bavarian sampler and while portions are still generous, the food just isn't as delicious as it used to be. It feels like any German food you order is made haphazardly by a kitchen staff that is unfamiliar with German cooking. Wouldn't recommend the place it German is what you're looking for.
Really good service and excellent food Bavarian Sampler Bratwurst, Knocksurst & Weisswurst served with crisp potato pancake and delicious red cabbage Really Delicious Veal Schnitzel with Mushroom Jaeger Sauce ALL AT A VERY good cost
Delicious pizza - can’t wait to enjoy my German chocolate cake later when less full.
I absolutely loved the food and service, good location to my residence. The employees are always very nice. I highly recommend this place.
