Worst dining experience in my life. The service and food were so terrible and overpriced that I only left a ten percent tip. (I always leave at least 20%). When I got home, I found out they added an extra $20 to the credit card charge without my consent. Of course, they never responded when I emailed them about the problem. I hope they stay closed forever.

Are you closed down??
Since the new owners took over, Inlet Cafe is just a disaster. We went back three times since then, and each was worse than the last. 2+ hour waits for cold, bad food, or no food at all. Tables all around us were upset, some even walked out after giving up. Everyone dearly misses the original Inlet Cafe!

Sunday dinner and service was below standard. Placed in a table that was not clean and the waitress became aware and had to apologize and wipe table while we were seated. Plastic chair was cracked down middle and should be thrown out. Also, no draft beer as the "system was broken for a couple of days and waiting to be fixed. Also, no IPA bottles available? Draft system breaks and they can't buy more IPA bottles? Fluke entree on menu, but was not available on a Sunday evening? Its right next to Sandy Hook? Valet worker that parked car, quit during our meal so waitress had to bring keys, but gave us the wrong one. Dumpsters next to parking lot were overflowing and smell was putrid. Wait for table at Proving Ground.
Parking: Valet worker quit. Giant whole in parking log

Our last two experiences here have been Very undesirable and after this last visit will likely not return. We preferred to sit outside but took first available and were told 20 mins. We were sat inside after 30 min wait and were the only table in there so not sure why we waited a half hour to be seated. After waiting over an hour for our food once we sat with two kids under the age of 5, the grilled chicken came out cold so it’s unclear how long it was sitting in the back. I asked the waiter if the fish and chips are crispy because I like well done battered fish he told me yes. When we got the bill, there was a $4 charge for extra crispy fish which is crazy especially since it was no more crispy than another members’ of our party!! We also were charged for 2 orders of garlic bread when we only received one. I’ll give it to the one girl with dark hair who offered us a shot to account for the long wait but while we came by boat and with two young kids, we were not going to take shots. She also took off the salad with the cold chicken and when I brought the extra crispy fish charge to her attention she said she would adjust it. Other than her, who was not even our waitress, the service was pretty terrible. I don’t think we saw our server again after placing our order. we will not be returning and highly recommend proving ground next door if you are in that area.

Why does no one answer the phone?? I was here once years ago & loved the food & the owner, so I have always wanted to go back. I’ve been calling all week to confirm if they’re open year-round, or at all at this point if they’re open at all, since their last Facebook post was in March 2023. If not for finally seeing the Google reviews that are only 1-3 weeks old I would have assumed they went out of business.

Clam chowder was between 'good' and 'ok'. The brussel sprouts very very tasty. The wait staff seemed indifferent (at best) to us. She did not want to be there and wore it all over.

People rip on this place because "iTs noT WhAt it USeD 2 be"
Well duh. It's new owners with a different menu. Tho they need to take charge of the old owners site and remove the old menu.
Food was good but a bit pricey for what it was.

Fries are great. Seated us without explaining they were understaffed. Waited over an hour for appetizer then another 30 mins before bringing out one sandwich. When we finally got their attention, it was another 10 mins before my food arrived. Mostly lettuce. No explanation or apology. Not going back.

We’ve been coming here 50 years. No more. The lobster roll was really celery and Mayo on a stale roll. 2 tiny. pieces of lobster. For 29 dollars. A lot is missing from the menu too. Service was good but the place was empty. They should be ashamed of that lobster roll. After 50 years we won’t be back. So sad. What happened?

My first visit was Summer 2021 and the place was fantastic; great food and service.I visited just a few months back around Mother's day and couldn't believe the difference. Food was cold by the time it arrived. Service was embarrassingly slow. I don't know what happened, but the owners need to pull it together or this place will go under for sure.

Service and atmosphere were great. Food was good too but I have it 4 stars because they had no draft beer at all and no local beers either. Still a worthwhile visit.
Parking: Street parking can be hard to find. Expect a little walk.

Enjoyed a great lunch today. The crabcake sandwich was delicious as always. Beautiful views outside too. A big thank you to our server, Brooke, for providing excellent service!
