We were hiking some trails around the area and stopped here for some drinks and food! The service and atmosphere were great, the food was incredibly delish! We had the crusted cod, fish and chips also the caesar salad. When driving out the tavern there are beautiful views and places to walk to enjoy the views! My new favorite spot in Sandy Hook! Can’t wait to visit again! Also is dog friendly!

First time going to the Mule Barn yesterday, was packed for 2 pm on a Tuesday. Cocktails were delicious as well as wings and the pork belly sliders (great sauce on them). Lovely vibe (sat outside), beautiful inside also. I will def be back, I wish them well!

Veggie burgers was just with no taste, no any souce there, even some mayo, vegetarian people are also like a tasty food!
I asked the waiter before order what base on this burger, he said it’s bean base, but it was a vegetable based, we couldn’t even eat it, and another think we wanted to order a sweet potato fries, and waiter said he can switch out regular friars for another, we said ok, so we did same for 2 people, in the end we paid 4$ extra, where just to buy a basket of fries is 8$, so he changed us for everything, even he was asking if everything ok, I told that is not good at all, he said he is sorry :) he did’t ask if we wanna switch for something else, paid maybe only for one burger or whatever to make it ok, so we paid a 45$ for few french fries and one non-alcoholic beer.

While there was a 30 minute wait, I decided to sit at the bar and order my food there.
They have a small bar outside and a much larger one inside which is where I decided to stay.
I had the pork belly sliders and they were amazing. You have to try them.

What a perfect day to spend our lunch here. The food was great, and the service was phenomenal. They even allow dogs outside. Highly recommend coming here, especially after biking or hiking SandyHook beach.

The atmosphere inside and out can’t be beat! The burger is the best in Jersey - huge, flavorful and high quality. Fish tacos were outstanding! Honestly everything was on point - including the service and drinks. Highly recommend the rum buckets, mules and margaritas. Great location with a beautiful view. If you go check out the handmade American flag over the inside bar - the owner made it himself from repurposed wood…. Amazing.

We ate here today. It was our first time. We loved the food and the atmosphere. It has an interesting history. Definitely worth the drive.
