Definitely a cool spot, but the "security" opened our toddlers sippy cup, shoved their nose in it and smelled it because, quote "you can never be too sure" about bringing in alcohol. We dont need strangers breathing into our kids sippy cup's. That was after they patted us down.. Big turn off.
We attended an end-of-school event at the Sandbox in June, but we've been there before. Overall, its a great time and would definitely recommend.
The food selection largely comes from a rotation of food trucks. They are all high quality for food trucks but its hard to make recommendations because they change. The day we were there a pizza truck came and was very popular with the kids and adults.

Came here in the late afternoon with a group of people and got two tables with umbrellas luckily! We got drinks, got food from the food trucks, and chatted! Super fun atmosphere with the live music and of course being on the beach. It was nice to be able to walk around in the sand with no shoes.
We decided to drive from the city, but if you don’t have a car or want to drive, you can take the Seastreak ferry straight to the Sandbox!...
