Some of the best food I've ever had. Good portion sizes. Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was attentive and very nice. Will absolutely be back.

Dining at Amanda's is a treat. My husband and I both had the gnocchi with a light tomato sauce. It was perfectly done. An arugula salad with orange sections, goat cheese and balsamic drizzle had the right balance of sweet and savory. The restaurant was extremely busy with several large parties, but the service was attentive. The live music added to the ambience. It was soft and pleasing to the ear. The musician performed a mix of the American Song Book and more contemporary music, pleasing all ages. I'm ready to go back. Kathy T

Hoboken has a ton of really great places to eat, and Amanda's is, without a doubt, at the top of the list. We enjoyed a delicious brunch with our son while visiting him on campus. The restaurant staff is terrific; they really made us feel welcome and never tried to rush out the door. We had several orders of empanadas while we waited for our entrees; the beef was outstanding. We enjoyed the decor, it has that old NY/NJ feel, which added a really cool vibe to the restaurant and provided plenty of talking points while we ate. We are already planning on going back for dinner very soon.

Dinner was fine but not exceptional. Service was a bit slow. I asked the server if the bartender could make a drink and after a bit, someone else came and asked what I was asking for. He then asked for the ingredients which is odd because most places will look it up and let me know. It’s old school but not totally obscure. After I gave the items he said they didn’t have mint and couldn’t make the drink. Odd. Maybe it’s an east coast thing but most bars are able to make mojitos and have mint.It then took a long while for our server to come back and ask if I wanted something else at which point we told her we were ready to order. Our appetizer came out relatively quickly but then after we finished it someone brought over another order and was surprised when we said we already got our order. A few minutes later someone approached our table once again with another order of the same appetizer and was surprised when we said we didn’t place two orders. My salmon was ok but not great…slightly overcooked. The beet and orange salad was goodWe had the ice cream sundae for dessert which was ok.The place is cute and seems popular with regulars who received warm welcomes and good service. It’s unfortunate that we had just an ok experience since it was our last night before returning to California.

Deceivingly large, this cute restaurant nestled on Washington Street is an intimate, romantic spot that is ideal for a dinner date. Let's start off with the pros: We were initially seated near the front of the restaurant, but we found it to be too dark and stifling. We asked to be seated elsewhere, and the staff kindly accommodated our request. I recommend getting seated in one of the larger rooms for the better lighting and ambiance. Our server was friendly and moved quickly with our requests. There was a live pianist who played relaxing jazz tunes. The decor is reminiscent of someone's personal home, with classical wall moldings and fun pieces of pop art. The space is so lovely and you can tell that other customers were admiring the interiors. Their bathroom is very clean, which is always a plus. Portions are relatively large, so despite the higher price point, it wasn't too expensive. Happy hour includes half off wine bottles, so we ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc which was lovely. Originally $42, it was only $21 with the happy hour deal. Unfortunately, let's move on to the cons: I really wish I could say better about the food. We ordered each of the empanadas, the seafood tagliatelle, and short ribs. All of these were recommended by our server. For the empanadas, we got chicken, spinach, and beef. Beef was definitely the best out of the three; the other two were a little bland. The seafood tagliatelle came with shrimp, mussels, and fish, all coated in a butter sauce. The seafood was decent, but the tagliatelle itself was lacking in flavor. I think they could have benefitted from adding more seasoning. The short ribs was the most delicious out of what we ordered--the mashed potatoes that comes with it was the star of the show. The short ribs themselves were a little too salty, but it paired nicely with the mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. Overall, I think Amanda's is a lovely place for a special evening--I just wish the food had more flavor. I'm willing to come again and try different menu items to see if there is anything worth trying on the menu.

We've been wanting to try this restaurant since we relocated from San Francisco. Glad we finally had a chance to dine here. Great, friendly service and delicious food. The passionate fruit martini was also delicious. The almond joy dessert was fantastic. Overall fantastic meal. We will definitely be back!

Best eggs Benny I have ever had, seriously!! I was so grateful they were willing to swap the meat for mushrooms because I would have hated to miss out on this dish. Service was great and very friendly and accommodating. The place is huge and has a more elegant feel, which isn't usually my go to, but it was beautiful with interesting art.

The cuisine and service are excellent. The menu has a wide variety of tempting choices, and the drinks and wine list is extensive. There's a nice distance between tables so regular conversation is possible. The music was light jazz and added to the positive experience.

The staff and owner do not appreciate the clients of the restaurant. At my recent dinner at the restaurant they overcharged me, and when I was pointed out, did not acknowledge their mistake it is not a good place to eat if you want to be treated fairly.

First tie here and I really enjoyed the food. I'm not sure if it was the fact that all four of were starving but everything tasted fresh, savory and delicious! I had the steak & eggs. Steak was perfect for me and I just wanted more. I was with two vegetarians and they also said their food was delicious. I highly recommend this place to judge for yourselves. Pleasant atmosphere and vibe. I went during brunch on Saturday and Ild like to try regular dining hours.

Nice spot for brunch in Hoboken. Everyone enjoyed the menu items which included the omelettes, steak and eggs, eggs Benedict and the chicken sandwich. Cocktails were good as well. Desserts were delicious (apple strudel and flourless chocolate cake) and the affogato was a big hit.

A little overrated. The focaccia and prosciutto appetizer is an embarrassment. The pasta that comes with the chicken prosciutto mozzarella entree was very underwhelming, sauce didn't taste like much. Great vibes inside but not worth the price in my opinion

Excellent food. Interesting cocktails and specials. Super fresh salads. Chicken Thigh Marsala with silky mash potatoes was tasty and delicious. Topped off dinner with an Argentinian Sundae that was yummy!
