Really great staff! Super friendly and helpful! Very fare prices. Will come again!
The lobster roll from Angelo Seafood Market is absolutely fantastic! The lobster meat is fresh, tender, and generously portioned—sweet and perfectly cooked with that signature ocean-fresh flavor. It’s lightly dressed, allowing the natural richness of the lobster to shine through without being overpowered by mayo or seasoning. The roll itself is buttery, toasted just right, and adds the perfect crunch to every bite.
Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can tell this place takes real pride in their seafood. It’s a true hidden gem for anyone who loves authentic, no-frills, high-quality lobster rolls. Highly recommend stopping by for one—you won’t be disappointed! 🦞
Everything here is fresh and wild caught. Local and all of the people who worked there were courteous and professional. I can not recommend highly enough. If you are yearning for the care and personal touch of mom and pop stores of the old days this is the place for you. I wish Hoboken had more of them.
I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others. From overpriced products to shockingly rude and unprofessional staff, this store is a complete disaster.
They have a misleading sign at the register that says “3.4% discount for paying with cash” – but when you go to pay, they actually add 3.4% to the labeled price if you use a card. That’s not a discount; it’s a hidden surcharge. To make matters worse, the machine doesn’t even show you how much tax you’re paying, which makes it feel even more shady.
When I politely questioned the charge, the person at the counter became aggressive and defensive, completely missing the point and unable to explain anything clearly. Then the owner jumped in, equally rude, and basically told me to leave if I wasn’t buying anything.
Bottom line: if you enjoy paying more than the listed price and being treated like an inconvenience, this is your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. There are better places with honest pricing and basic respect for customers.
Fantastic fresh seafood. Love that they also sell ceviche - it’s pricey but worth it for high quality seafood.
The fishmongers are also great to chat with for preparation suggestions and do an outstanding job removing bones. I was questioning if Angelo’s higher price point was worth it and then got a piece of fish from Whole Foods that was absolutely mangled and still had half the bones in. I’ve bought fish from Angelo over a dozen times and never had an issue with bones.
Really happy Hoboken has a spot for a great variety of fresh seafood.
Went for happy hour Friday and really enjoyed the experience. It’s BYOB and the food is very good. The tuna tartar and she crab soup were the best of what we ordered and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It’s a cool kind of private experience downstairs .
Clean, good variety of seafood and fish. The gentleman at the counter was helpful and pleasant. I would definitely go back. Much better than Whole Foods fish department.
First time customer, the butterflied fish was fresh and incredibly yummy! For sure will buy again :-)
Amazing
Great to have this in town, my preferred seafood store.

I get my salmon here every week, often 2x a week. Freshest, best tasting fish! The people who work here are all friendly & helpful.
Great selection. Top quality. Super helpful and friendly staff. Great addition to the community.
Just got salmon here for the first time (finally) and I thought it would be similar to stew leonard’s but I could support a small business and WOW it was probably one of the best pieces of salmon i’ve ever had. $2 difference from shop rite/ stews and i’m sold, never had such a buttery delicious, melt in your mouth fish in my life. I could not recommend more, we’ll be back!!
Was in town to see a couple patients and craving oysters and randomly walked into this fabulous spot. At first I thought it was just a seafood market but they directed me downstairs to the seafood bar! Hit the spot and was outstanding! Service was fast and provided great info about the oysters. Additionally the fresh tuna was incredible. Had a coupe oysters they just got in that weren’t on the menu which was really good. 5-stars all around for this spot!
Perfect addition to the neighborhood. We have to keep the 2 year old seafood monster fed. Keep em coming! Find a way to deliver and its over! 5stars. Fresh fresh fresh.
