Great for a date or take out. Their spicy rolls (tuna, salmon, yellowtail) are excellent. And it’s been my go-to for takeout for about 6 years now. Their maki combo is also an excellent value and servers are polite.

I went for hibachi dinner with my kids for my birthday. My kids were excited to see the chef cook the food in front of us. We sat on one side of the table away from another family as i had a 1 year old the chef came and cooked for the other family and mine but only cooked on the other side of the table and we had his back the whole time. The chef gave us much less food . I told the waiter that we are not seeing the chef cook and asked to speak to the manager . Once our food was served i spoke to the manager and told him that we did not see the show and it was my birthday. My kids were watching from a different table the flames going up and were interested. He said they were short of chef and did not offer any type of discount . He did not show any interest in my concern . As we left the manager was so interested in his phone than responding goodbye to us.

Food never arrived and then they called me to cancel my order after an hour and a half of waiting. I used to love it here. Super

The food is absolutely delicious. The staff have always been friendly. It is a bit costly but id say it's worth it. 10/10 would recommend.

you know what...let me tell you something. This place does the job! it's efficient and fairly good sushi and delicious hibachi. Fun for groups and BYO so bring a bottle of red/white with a friend or two and you'll definitely have a nice time. I personally believe Hoboken has average to poor sushi options and this is one of my favorites! worth a look for casual dining in a relaxing environment.

Seaweed salad and Kani salad were good. The Kani was a little bit meh but fine for me. The spicy salmon roll was terrible and I don't say that lightly. It was salmon blended with tempura and heavy on the tempura. Never experienced any sushi ever tasting oily and fried like that. Just rice, nori, and the salmon puree... 16.50 disappointing.
Food was good. Hibachi is boring Not drinks or dessert menu. The place looks old.

I've been coming to Ayame since it opened back in 2010/2011. It's always amazing. Great quality, great prices, and it's BYOB! I usually come for the sushi but the Hibachi is SO FUN!

Great service and good. We went with a large group and they were able to serve up tasty meals for all including a gluten free meal for my daughter. This is a Hoboken hidden gem especially for kids.

We’ve been ordering the Sushi for 2 dinner platter for months now but yesterday’s order had the rolls more on rice than the fish. I really hope this will be a one time thing
